Alright! Got some stuff done today! Got my new 3" exhaust installed... Here she is up on the lift getting the Thermal R&D Cat-back and stock header/cat removed (the Thermal R&D setup is for sale in the classified section by the way).

Next the header came off...

And the Vibrant header went on...

Much better clearance than the knock-off ones out there, glad I snatched this one up!

Had to custom fab a 2.5" to 3" piece and then weld in some bungs for oxygen sensors (stock one and one for my wideband sensor).

Here's the Vibrant 5" resonator where the cat used to be...

Another shot as we get back towards the muffler...

Around the bend...

Vibrant "Turbo" muffler...

She sounds great! Loud and throaty!! Can't wait to get the JRSC installed and see what she can do! Next up, engine rebuild!

So sorry I haven't posted an update in a while. Waiting on the guy who is doing my engine rebuild, he is working on another car and it probably won't be done for another week or so and then he will be ready for me. So, I went back into parts buying mode...

Got my pistons and rods picked out, decided to go with 10:1 CP forged pistons and Eagle H Rods. Of course, I will have to get the block sleeved, and since I am only planning to run 9psi at least initially, maybe I will do a 50 shot of nitrous too...

Decided to go with ACL for the main/rod bearings and also got their thrust washers...

My steering wheel is also a little scratched up and I decided I wanted an upgrade, so I got an s2000 AP1 steering wheel. Haven't installed it yet, waiting on a new cable reel to arrive. I have a cheap aftermarket one on there now and it's busted so as soon as I take the wheel off it'll need replaced. Can't wait to put it on...

And last but not least... These came in the mail today! Awesome.

Luckily my current tags don't expire for almost 2 more months before I have to stick these on. Hopefully I actually have a supercharged BB6 by then!

s2k steering wheel installed!

However I have decided that I need to refinish the leather on the wheel a bit. The top part of it is pretty gnarly and the left side is starting to wear. I bought some stuff on Amazon and will probably be hooking it up on Friday, I will post that up too... I'll probably refinish the shift knob while I'm at it. Running out of stuff to do while waiting for engine rebuild!

Refinished the leather on the steering wheel and also on my shift knob. It's the stock knob so wasn't in the greatest shape (if you look at the fullsize image in the last post you can see the wear on it). I think they both came out looking awesome.

I should have done a write-up on that, but I am sure there are plenty of videos out there on how to do it. I used SEM products to do it (soap, prep and classic coat black...and some 400 grit sandpaper).

Here's some more shots of the engine... Block has been sent off to be sleeved and having the head checked out to make sure everything is good with the valvetrain and what-not... Wasn't planning on doing any head work unless it was absolutely necessary... Also dropped off the valve cover to get powdercoated in black!

I expect to have everything back in a couple weeks and we can work on getting this thing back together!

I'm liking how this is coming along, and enjoying following the thread. But is there any chance of getting the enormous pictures down to a reasonable size? Pics seem to switch from regular size to HUUGE and back, makes it tough to see what's even in the pics sometimes.

Beyond that, keep up the good work, it's looking spectacular!

This seems like a great build. any updates so far?

I'm a bit confused... do you have 2 superchargers? There was the one in the red prelude, but you also have a new one in post 4. Are those 2 different ones?

Which btw, that was one hell of a story/experience buying the red prelude. Glad you still have your sanity after that!

I fixed the pics just for you.

Enjoy... :-)

Still waiting on my block to come back from Golden Eagle. They've had it since before New Years... I have two blowers. I have the original one in the kit from the red car and I bought a brand new blower only (last one available from Moss). I will likely be rebuilding and selling the one from the red car at some point if anyone is interested.

Oh, I do have an update. Motorvations Motorsports has jackshaft pulleys IN STOCK for the Prelude JRSC... It was like $157 shipped. So with that and the Accord crank pulley, I'll be running about 12psi. Got a 3-bar MAP sensor on the way as well!

AND... I found a set of AEM Tru Power underdrive pulleys, so I won't be overdriving my accessories with the Accord crank pulley.

So check out what came in the mail today! MVM stepper pulley for my JRSC! This will add 3psi to the 3psi I am already adding with the Accord crank pulley so I should be running right around 12.

I want to thank Jim over at Motorvations, he was awesome to work with! If you guys need a pulley, better grab it quick!

So I decided I wanted to make the AEM pulleys look a little nicer so I got them powder coated. The guy who did it took care to plug up the center so it wouldn't affect it being able to go on the spindle. While not perfect, I think they look 100x better.

Before:

And after...

Should have my block back from being sleeved next week, and tomorrow the supercharger is coming off the parts car and I am going to do a parts inventory to make sure I have everything I need to get ready to start the build (finally!)

Got the supercharger off the red 'lude. It's in rough shape. The previous owner or whoever built this thing did a real hack job on it. Luckily I think it's salvageable...

I need to really go through everything and do a parts inventory. It's missing a few screws here and there...

Quite the hack job here...

RTV much?

I think this bracket is broken...

I'm going to go back over tonight and go through everything with a fine tooth comb. Hopefully whatever parts I need will be available from Moss. I have a brand new blower and I am going to order some new idler pulleys. I wish I could get a set of those sweet aluminum ones.

I also got my block, head and crank back from the machine shop this morning! They're looking sweet!

Taking it over to the guy who is doing the build tonight along with my stack o' parts!

Went through the supercharger kit tonight, it is complete, however the little flange on the adapter plate is broken, I am going to have to get something fabbed up. If that's my biggest issue then I should be good to go (knock on wood).

I'll post more updates soon, thinking about getting everything powder coated to match the color of the new blower I have and I definitely need some new idler pulleys.
