^ Thanks mate! Yeah that's in the plans. Just waiting for this motor to burn out lol. Gonna prolly do a H23A1 swap. Already have the motor and the ECU stashed. Will keep the same trans tho, it's been bulletproof.
So I got my SE rims in. Paid $330 for them. From what I know they are really rare and not many were made, especially the ones with red inserts. Gonna refurbish them and will make a DIY on it.
Started refurbishing my SE wheels. These came from the heavily salted roads in North Dakota. To get rid of the corrosion I used a 3m fine scrubby with water and then I wet sanded in 400 grit wet/dry paper. I still have more wet sanding to do in higher grits. Gonna go 800 and then finish it off with 1000. In the end I will use a rubbing compound to polish them off to an almost like new appearance.
Here is the progress so far.
Before (heavy corrosion on the perimeter of the wheel, salt erosion is evident).
After 3m pad and 400 grit wet sanding
still much more left to do before the final polish takes place.
Very nice car man, I've always wanted a 4th gen, but frankly I have too much in my current 5th gen to stop now! I won't lie, I don't like the color. And I'm skeptical on how those red wheels will look on a gold car. However, props for how well you've maintained it. You should sneak some engine bay shots in there.
Forgive me for my Honda-engine ignorance, but is the F series engine in it really doggy? You said it was slow, was that because of the engine type, or is it an automatic? I'm just assuming it's a 5spd.
The F22a1 has only like 130hp at the crank, trying to use that to pull a heavy Prelude doesn't work out well, also the transmissions mated to these motors have very tall gears that cripple the acceleration even more. Boosted though the single cam F's are pretty good.

^true........Turbo it!
The car's in crazy good condition.
Those rims are cool.
Could work with the gold better than some others.
Im pretty sure they only came red on certain SE red ludes, right?

thank you. yeah F22A1 is slow, it's just an Accord motor. For my luxury style of driving I'm ok with this motor for now.

I agree with everything you said, except 4th gens are not heavy. They are small, light tin cans. Maybe you are thinking of a 5th gen? either way, even 5th gens are not that heavy.

thanks man. Yeah I think it should look good. Many people put gold rims on a red car, so why not red rims on a gold car? Besides, I finally have legit rims now, better these than the pieces of **** I have now.
Yeah these came on certain SE Preludes, the ones that received them as a factory option only. Regular SE came with gray inserts. As far as I know, only made in limited quantities in 1995, although I seen them in 1993 Honda access catalogs. So I debate the actual year of production.
here is the photo from the 1993 Honda Access catalog. Makes no sense since everyone is saying these were made in 1995. Here is the link that shows the cover of the catalog and clearly says this is 1993. 1992-1996 Honda Prelude EDM factory parts, options and specs
By today's coupe standards the 4g is light BUT compare it to civics of it's time and it's a sled. It does however have a better power to weight ratio than a GSR, of course only the 4g VTEC.
