Hey everyone. I have visited this site a few times to check things out, but never made an introduction thread. Hopefully this is the section to do it in lol. Sorry for the big introduction haha. OH and before anyone says anything, TRUST ME, I don't want that body kit on there anymore. Owning a house and going back to school has made me refuse to spend anymore cash on it heh.
Well here is my 1992 Honda Prelude SR. I have it had for over 7 years now and she has gone through some changes over the years, but the biggest being the boosted setup that's in it now. The car started off as an H23 with 215,000km's on it. Not even 10,000km's into my first year of owning the car it suffered an oil pump failure and the h23 was toast. I decided to step up to the H22 and picked up a very clean H22A from a local shop. I then did a couple of basic bolt on's with an ACT stage 2 clutch and had the car tuned by Nick from Teknotik in Toronto Canada and made 178whp at 152wtq. Obviously that was not enough lol.
So the motor came out in March of 2006 and was sent to Graham at Canadian Cylinder Head in Toronto for a rebuild. The block was built with steel sleeves, stock bore, wiseco pistons, eagle rods, scatch resistant bearings, and polished up the stock crank. I also got a new oil pump, water pump, and timing belt. The head remained stock other then a new lost motion assembly and valve seals.
In April of 2006 the lude went in for its first tune, and unfortuneatly for me at the time I didn't have a lot of knowledge in the area of boosted cars and went with a ****ty log manifold, and a t3/t4 that was not sized for what I wanted. The car ended up making 290whp and 284wtq(dynojet). I was not happy with the results, but I still enjoyed beating on the car for that year putting on over 20,000km's in a single season. In March of 2007 I decided to change my manifold and turbo. I had one of my good buddy's who works at local shop fab me up a custom manifold and with that I picked up a 62-1 Straight T4. So off to the dyno again heh. This time the car would make 318whp and 267whp at around 9psi. I drove the car this way for most of the season until my CAT blew apart and decided to punch it out. I went back to the dyno and made 351whp and 284wtq at 11.7psi on a dynapack. I went to a local dynojet for a dyno day and made 366whp and 300wtq on their dyno. So 7 years later and the car is now at 360,000km's, and just over 70,000km's (44,000 miles) of that has been boosted. This motor has treated me VERY, VERY WELL. Which goes to show that a quality build will take you a long way.
Sorry again for the big introduction lol. I could have said more, but this gives you an idea of what changes the car has gone through. Now on to the pics and videos
