Pearl White Prelude - Plain and simple.

Hello everyone. I've been around on PO for a number of years. Picked-up some great info here about repairing things and keeping my ride going. Just turn 189,000 miles today.

I've always been mostly a plain jane stock guy. This is my daily driver and I just keep it clean and rolling. I've wanted to drop it down now for a few years and finally picked up some BC Coilovers this month. I haven't installed them just yet so please don't flame my 4x4

Here are a few pics and I have a question after you take a look. Let me know if I need to resize them.

My recent Lip.

[IMG][/IMG]

Just another one.

So here's my question. I still have my pin stripe and have been told to hang on to it since it makes it different. But I've been thinking I should join the crowd and go stripeless
Let me know

Great looking clean prelude, I say go without the pinstripe. That car will really be something else with the BC's on!

Thanks for the compliment! I'm leaning toward the stripeless look too.

Lip looks great, as do the wheels.

I'd personally ditch the stripe too.

Suspension's going to transform your car, post pics once that happens!

Thanks all. @60hz I actually bought the painted sides before I found out I could paint the original black ones. I am thinking I will paint the back.

So, I've been getting ready to install my BC coilovers and drop it down some. I was doing some work on my driveway and where I park and I discovered a cheap way to lower the rear about an inch for about $35.00!!!

Not bad huh? Well here's the catch

there you go!

Just for laughs guys... I happened to think about where I park and realized I needed to repair the entrance to gain some clearance below. Anyway, that work is done so the install is coming soon.

Installed the coilovers yesterday. Took me right at 7.5 hours from startup to cleanup. I just installed them at the preset height that came out of the box which is just a bit too low for my taste. I'll post pics after I've got the height tuned in and clean the Lude up! Today is a day for me to recoop! I'm getting too danged old for manual labor

I too, had pinstripes. I got rid of them and haven't looked back. See my build thread in my sig to see some before and afters if you want. When the car gets photographed without it, you'll see the natural light divide in the crease where the pinstripe was and it'll still look beautiful.

I think you should finish it up with the rest of the lip kit and it'll be a truly excellent looking car, my $.02

Well, I finally had a chance to clean up the lude and take some updated photos. First I'd like to show you what I installed.

BC Racing Coilovers type BR. Springs are 8 fronts and 6 rears. This is not the default or standard of 10/5 but I took my que from another member here (chuitron) who installed this exact setup.

I love the new lowered look and what it should have been from Honda all along.

And one to say "I've been here".

I'm still trying to get used to the "firmer" ride. I have the struts adjusted to very soft since I just drive on the streets as a daily driver. I guess time will tell if I can get used to them or choose to go a different route.

I am totally impressed with the quality of the BC coilovers. I can tell a difference how the car holds the road even in a straight line at higher speeds. I had a chance to turn loose on an entrance ramp to the interstate this week. Ran it up to 100 and it felt like it was literally sucking down to the highway. Guess it was the difference without all the turbulance beneath the car. It was nice!

beautiful 5th gen!!! lowering really transformed your look, just like Colin said. This gives me inspiration to lower my lude also, eventho the roads here are so bad.

^^ yep. That is on my list to do. Just ordered a hitch receiver for my bicycle rack. Not sure how that is going to look, but I need it to get my bike places I want to ride and I could not bear the idea of strapping a trunk mount rack to my baby!

Looking good so far.

I vote ditch the pin stripe. However, if it's been on the car since new, it may take some of the clearcoat with it if you remove it.
