haha I had a flawless one owner low mileage 240 hatch with a ka24de and my h22a4 has much more than 5 more hp. Whoever said 45hp was right. Why on earth would you think there is only a 5hp difference?

^I'm guessing he compared it to a H23, which is much closer to a ka24de performance wise than a H22.

Well, I actually got the information from my friend mike who owns a 95 lude. He originally told me that H23A1 and H22A made around the same hp, but yeah 40hp is a big difference.

Yeah I know what you mean. I was going to turbo the KA, but I drove a 240 hatch with an SR, needless to say but I'm going to build an SR from the ground up.

yeah that would be a better choice, i always thought the ka would be better cuz its a 2.5 but the 2.0 puts out so much torque and with that turbo its got unbelievable top end, the one i drove was all stock except a big front mount, a straight pipe and a blitz tuned ecu... witht he 2-way lsd i put that car into a nice drift without even trying... it was just truely amazing... im sure it would be faster in yours since the s13 is lighter than the s14

The KA is actually 2.4 and the SR only has 40 lbs more torque than the ka and that's not a big difference when your talking about torque. in my opinion the SR is only as good as you build it, stock SRs are crap.

Welcome to the site, good luck with your project, and finding a lude. I now own an SH and a base... I have had my base for longer though, and it has LSD now. In my opinion the SH is not as good as a base. SURE out of the box you get better handling. But it requires more maintanence, and the clutch is more of a biatch to replace if done on your own, or more money if done at a shop. The oil changes are even a bit harder to do since the filter is in an awkward position. Then there is the case of the atts unit having so many issues. And the small weight difference. Getting a base, and then finding a jdm tranny with LSD or having one correctly installed at a tranny shop is ALOT better than having an SH... Its something you have to push hard in the turns for it to work. When an LSD works ALL the time.. Plus I have RIPPED on SH models in the past with my stock base lude...

Whatever the case may be.. Dont ever buy an SS lude.. I dont care how many miles are on them. Or how new they are. Unless you already plan on putting some cash into it by doing a swap and changing things over to manual. I wouldnt buy an SS though at all.

H2B4 trannies and H22A's are now going for 750 bucks a piece at warehouses in my area now. Lucky me. I got both for 1000 a piece.

Good luck with everything!
