Got bored Saturday and thought, "I'll paint my calipers."
Each side of the car took about 2 hours with the drying time. That's a lot better than the 5 days it took me to sew red stitches into my shift-boot. Ooh, maybe I should post a picture of that.

I won't know for several months I pretty much followed the FAQ. I cleaned everything with Brakleen and then with some dish detergent using a pot-scrubber. Then I put on 4 coats of color and 2 coats of clear enamel (both high-temp paint). I gave everything an hour to dry before reassembling and then used a tiny paint brush to touch up thin areas.
Can u post some more pics up please...........preferably further away........why didn;t u just buy the OEM red-stiched shift knob anyways
I'll post more pics when I get around to taking them. That picture was just a frame grabbed from video I shot w/ my digital vid. cam.
As for the red stitches, I did buy the red-stitched shift knob and it comes with a solid black shift-boot. I wanted the boot to also have red stitches so I put them there. Talk about a sore thumb.

You may find it cheaper to get the ITR one. Upon closer inspection you can tell that mine is 'hand-made' because not all of the stitches are the same distance apart, etc. This doesn't matter in the long run but if I made one for you, you'd probably want it to be perfect. Perfection wouldn't be very likely since it would be my second time using a needle'n'thread.
Plus I'd have to change my nick to LudeSeamstress and I'm not sure how manly that would be. PM me if you're actually serious about this.

but shift boot likes nice either way, good job on the diy
hmmm what kind of modifications? would it be too big or too small? the itr shift boot that is. and i see that the authentic itr shift knob is hella expensive
