My prelude as it is now, with a few small mods

I bought her about one year ago, completely stock. She's a 1999 Base. I have installed a few small mods, but plan to do a lot more now that ive got a job (i'm only 16). Any comments or recommendations are appreciated!

First of all, here are some pictures when i first bought it, completely stock:
Sorry about the bad quality.

First thing i did was i installed a new aftermarket stereo. It's a Sony Xplod CDX-GT700HD with HD radio and USB iPod connection.

I also recently installed some new speakers in my front doors because the old speakers' foam rings were starting to rip and rattle. The new speakers are Kicker KS60 6.5in. all i had to do was cut the plastic housing and they fit perfectly

Next thing i added was a factory spoiler. I also bought a Turtle Wax Headlight Restoration kit to clear up my extremely foggy headlights (they don't look that clear in the photos for some reason, but they are really clear in person). Here are some pics after i washed my car:

As you can see the front bumper and hood need to be repainted from all of the rock chips:

Also, not too long ago I ordered an AEM V2 intake and installed it myself:

Another thing i did was that i dyed the ugly gray trim to black:

Before

After

If you have any suggestions for mods that dont cost too much, i would love to hear them, thanks.

Choose 1 of these 2 options for your next mod.

5spd swap or sell the car. Yes I am completely serious.

Auto Ludes are really only worth their weight in scrap as the tranny's are junk and known as a ticking time bomb. The car is very clean for it's age of atleast 10-12 years as it is a 99 up.

If you do keep it, get that stupid dealer sticker off the back asap. If you keep it that could be the next mod followed shortly after by a 5spd swap. I'd atleast start buying the parts to do the swap anyways.

In addition to the other comments, I would recommend you give the car a good once over with a buffer to get rid of some of those swirl marks. It really does make a big difference when the car is clean.

As for trim, the best stuff I've found yet is Ultima Trim & Tire Guard, but you can't buy that at autozone.

What i used is Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye Kit. It works much better than mothers back to black. From what ive heard, mothers back to black will wash off and leave streaks. The Forever Black kit is supposed to last for years without washing off. It still looks the same as when i put it on 4-5 months ago.

I bought it from amazon, here is the link:
Amazon.com: Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye Kit: Automotive

Also, to respond to the other posts,
I do want to swap to a 5speed as soon as i can. About how much does it cost for all of the parts?

Couple way I have done it.

1. High pressure washer. The ones that charge anywhere from $1.25-2.00 for like 5 minutes. If you know of one that uses hot water use that one but cold will work too. Just get close to it where the trunk meets the sticker and spray away. Once removed ur gonna need some goo gone but I use 3M adhesive remover. It's the same stuff many dealers use. Anyways, clen the residue off with that. Wash with soap and water after that and dry it up. Wax it but a buff would be better and your done.

2. Either a hot sunny day or better yet a heat gun. Get it warm and peel it off. Once removed ur gonna need some goo gone but I use 3M adhesive remover. It's the same stuff many dealers use. Anyways, clen the residue off with that. Wash with soap and water after that and dry it up. Wax it but a buff would be better and your done.

I have done both methods many times and prefer the pressure washer.

If you need to remove the sticker glue residue, using real butter(just take some butter on you hand and wipe it on the spot, then just rub it in with your hand and a cloth tille the glue coems off) is a great way to get it off, then you wash the butter grease off with dishsoap and water.

$2500-3000 if you do some work yourself or get the parts at a bargain. You're much better off selling it.

looks pretty clean bro.Since your in high school and only have a part time job I completely understand that you cant do everything right away but you DO need to do a 5spd swap or sell it. In the meantime be easy on the tranny.DONT use the slapshift as it can lead to even faster tranny death and dont be hotrodding everywhere...I know how you young punks are

Hahaha sounds good! I will try to look for any preludes for sale here, but they don't become available very often. Just wish the 5speed swap was a lot cheaper, and also so i don't have to do all of the mods again to a new car.
