My old and new rides

2001 model that I sold 2 years ago. Missed its handling and looks but not much else.

Then I bought this since I needed to put in a baby seat, swore to keep it mostly stock since it already has adequate power and looks decent. Now its stage II and I blame the internet for this

I would definitely recommend it! It has good power in stock form and $2kin parts gains 50hp easily. 4WD and a 5-star safety rating which were the main selling points for me.

Used models are ridiculously cheap, a higher mileage 2005 model is probably ~$15k right now.

How does it ride lowered? I love lowered cars, but a second car for me is going to be more about comfort. But I hate tons of wheel gap. I understand on large bumps it's going to be harsh, but how about on the highway at 80mph?

Hell yes 4 doors are helpful, esp. when you constantly have to contort to stick a babyseat back there. Attracting less attn with a 4-door "Camry" is a bonus too!!

The lowered ride is fine actually, although its a bit harsher in summer when I slap on the 18's. I chose a soft set (HKS LS+) of coilovers for the purpose of having a decent ride while getting rid of the 4X4 look. The ride quality really depends on the suspension you choose. Many LGT owners prefer the Bilstein Shocks from JDM Spec B's, which ride a tad bit stiffer than stock but nowhere near as bad as Koni/Tein/JIC etc.. However, the price on that is unreal due to supply/demand.

Main reason I got rid of the lude was because of the baby's arrival. Suspension was too stiff for a pregnant wife and newborn, plus jamming a babyseat is no easy task. Sayonara Prelude.

Wife hasn't complained much about the ride quality on the new car with coilovers and its baby approved as well.

+1

The legacy looks hot. I love those cars. My parents have a spec b of the current generation. But I like yours better, its much cleaner looking.
