stripped and spray painted the wheels, for the polishing:

220 dry
320 wet
400 wet
800 wet
1000 wet
2000 wet

just sand untill the marks from the previous grit were gone, then polish with mothers aluminum polish, pretty simple, yet time consuming.

Wheels look GREAT!

I've got one question for you though. I've refinished wheels before using a similar process (although I skipped a few grits rathern than doing the smaller increments you did).

Anyway, for the painted parts, spraying them with a clear would be fine, but how did you "seal" or protect the polished parts? If you leave the bare metal just polished like that, it oxidizes quite quickly. Meaning you have to use a fine polish often to restore that luster. Factory polished wheels have some sort of clearcoat, obviously this gets taken off when you wetsand, so did you spray a clear back overtop of it?

I found it very hard to get a conventional rattle job clearcoat to stay to the polished surfaces properly. Just curious what you did for the sealing end of things.

^ i just left it polished with mothers aluminum polish, we dont get tons of rain down here so i'm really not worried about it. if i have to throw on some polish once a week thats fine. i'd love to in the future to take them in and get them powdercoated, but unfortunatly i dont have that kind of money.......now i just need some spacers!

Why DID you get rid of your RS lip?

The wheel itself looks great. I just don't know if it looks that good on the car. I've always felt that mesh didn't go well on the 4g. Do you have shots from other angles?

was your RS setup poly? if so, would you be willing to sell it if you haven't already done so?

In this city there is ALWAYS construction and i didnt feel like having to paint the front end of my car every year......i had it painted, and a year later it looked like crap! so i took it off....some more pictures at the bottom.......the offset is +50, what i need to do is get some 25mm spacers for the rear and 15 for the front....then it will look tits.....

your car is the epitome of what i like a 4th gen to look like.

those wheels do nothing but compliment the car.

Is the color of the car the a stock code? or a custom shade?
