Sweet car man. I used to live in Tempe, AZ a year ago when I was going to ASU. I'm surprised I never ran into you. My car is also nbp. Too bad we never met. Good job on the car. I dig it
Those wheels look hot! I bet you are eager to auto-X now. The lip looks great too. Can you tell a difference in the colors? When is the rest of the kit coming together? We have to take pics of our cars as soon as you get the rest of the kit and I get mine repainted. When are you installing the seats? Can't wait to see those.
Is that pic of you pulling out into the street on Southern and Mill? It has to be with how ghetto it looks!
Are you planning on keeping the stock rims?

mudguards... hah!!!... yeah... well... I was just thinking about that today... I think they're going to be coming off soon... don't worry
Yeah they do look almost like 17's... the lip kinda comes up high.
As far as the FBP lip... I can tell the difference in color only from really close up... it's really not noticeable at all though. The rest of the kit will come together when I get around to it... basically NEVER... unless something comes up and lands on my lap. I'm not really eager to go buy a kit and go get it painted. I'm getting really warm to the look of the SH sides/rear with the OEM lip... but I would like the OEM/Mugen sides and Mugen Rears if possible though.
The tires are awesome and I can't wait to autox this sunday... I do rub a little bit though but nothing terribly bad... I think it's only in the back anyway so I'm going to trim that tab at some point.
I am keeping my stock rims... I still have Kumho 712's on two of them... the tread is still pretty much perfect on those. So now I have two full size spares.
1) cost... it gets expensive to buy bigger wheels along with the bigger sized tires that eventually get put on them.
2) functionality... performance IMO is better for the smaller size (weight-wise) for when I autox
I wouldn't mind going with a bigger wheel/tire setup, but right now, I really don't have the money for it. If I had enough money to run two different sets of wheels, I'd get race tires on 15's for autox and 17's for daily driving.
^^^ well... considering I have less than a finger gap in the front... I don't think I need to go any lower. The car's pretty low... trust me.
Thanks for all the comments guys. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated. Looks like from the looks of things, I'll be doing my brakes and suspension next (to help me out for autox).
The seats probably won't be put on while I still work at a restaurant. I don't exactly like the idea of parking my car outside for 5-11 hours unattended.
As far as weighing them... I never really got around to it. But supposedly they weigh 14 lbs... which is nice. Although the weight of the Azenis compared to the Kumho 712's probably negated some of the weight savings.
I'm not really going for any particular look. I just wanted something that looked clean and not too flashy, which is why I'm trying to get some OEM/Mugen sides and rears... I just wanted functionality with a little bit of style. I'm starting to get pretty serious about autoxing... but I don't want to go to a 15" rim just for performance. I wanted to maintain the stock size to maintain a good compromise between style and performance.
16" tires are much cheaper than 17's or 18's... For right now, I'll be rolling on 16's. When/if I do get a set of 15's though for strictly track use, I'll probably roll on a set of 17's.
Sorry Pearl... no bright banana yellow paint, aggressive body kits, dual exhausts, or a (then) giant wing for me Although I do give you props for the hard work you put into your car.
I don't usually like black cars and I don't usually post replies in this section. But, your car is an exception! Bloody marvellous. I reckon the wheels go well with your car.
Nice ride... but I'm sorry, I hate unfinished kits. It doesn't look terrible, since at least the sides somewhat match up with the front. But one thing about our cars I hate is how the rear seems to rise up so much.
I would finish the kit first, then do the suspension. Suspension is the best bang for your buck you can do.

Question: One finger gap is how many inches of drop normally on a 45/16? Thanks!
I don't know... somebody measure the gap on a stock lude and then I can tell you
Besides... on the Azenis... their measurements are underrated... these 215's are seriously more like 225's so the overall diameter of the 215/45 are almost identical to the stock 205/50.
ive been wanting to get some royal slipstreams or grid's in 16x7 but was just afraid of how 16's would look. that sets all my fears aside as they look great!
