My 98 UKDM 5th gen.......

Hi Prelude Online!

Im new on here, thought i would start my first thread by introducing my lude.

Its a UKDM 1998 2.2vti 5sp manual, the same as US base model.

I brought the car 2 years ago, completey stock with full honda service history. It had 83,000 otc at the time. Here are some pic's for ya...

When i first got it....

added some UKDM civic type-r rims, Tein basics, motegi front lip

some bling to the calipers.....

Sorted the horrible wood trim with some carbon affect stuff...

Added a full motegi lip kit

Home made front grille from a mercedes c-class lol

S2K wheel..

Tsudo 2.25" cat back with 3.5" DNX muffler.

AND THEN.........

I got bored of the power (or lack of it).....

And that just about brings us upto date!

The turbo conversion has only just been completed and tuned, BUT with problems..... Which im hoping PO may help me answer

Hope you didn't mind all the pic's.

james.

Looks great! I'm glad you are keeping it nice and clean. Are those stock calipers? Did you just paint the honda logo on there?

Yep stock calipers painted, and the white "honda" bits are heat resistant vinyl decals from ebay lol. The brakes are now complimented with black diamond grooved rotors and black diamond predator pads.....The pics above are quite old, il post up some more up to date stuff soon...

What do you think of your new brake discs & pads? Are they good? What did they replace?

BD Discs and pads all round, awesome (once beded in). They bite sooo much harder than stock brakes, and don't fade out at all!! I also replaced the hose's with goodridge braided lines, and change the fluid, made Huge difference. BTW i went for just grooved discs because the drilled ones tend to crack after heavy braking etc.....Btw try Carl @ invo tec or Duncan @ tokyo express for best prices, both were very competetive.....

What are they like cold or under gentle braking? I feel like my EBC RedStuff Ceramic brake pads are a bit too race track or fast driving orientated. I would like a bit more bite when cold. Also, how much did you pay for them?

There fine when cold mate and brilliant under light breaking. I know alot of performance pad's need the heat to kinda activate the compound's in them, but the Black Diamond predators bite well from cold. If you are going to fit BD's what ever you do (when first fitted) DONT put yourself in a situation where you have to break hard for the first 20-30miles.....you'll be in for a shock and so will the guy in front lol. The beding in process is a lil scary compared to other brakes i have used....

Think i paid £170 delivered for front grooved discs and predator pad's from tokyo express....

HTH

James.

The interior is very clean and comfortable looking.. What do you expect the 0-60 and 1/4 mile to be when the issues are worked out?
