Hi everyone, i recently registered for this fine forum after finding i couldnt stay away from it, from all the amazing preludes to the funniest threads (heres look at the $600 door sills thread)
after just getting some new wheels for my car and giving it a clean up i took a few pics.
My car is a 1998 VTI-R Type SH Prelude, when i purchased it last year it was on Super lows and had a few bits modified under the hood, since then i had to rise it up on near new stock struts because i live in a small city at the bottom of New Zealand and not all of our roads are 'flat' exactly, kept having the wheel whacking the car etc. i intend to eventually lower the front of my car just a little as the wheel well at the front is a bit big :P
also when it was on super lows the bottom of the car got a bit scratched /damaged so instead of repairing/painting it i decided to get a bodykit, i eventually found this R-Speed bodykit made in Australia, i like it mainly due to it keeping the standard prelude shape while making it a bit more aggressive.
heres a list of what it has
Full Leather interior
R Speed Bodykit
17x7.5 Wolf lightweight wheels
Rage Exhaust
Header
Mugen Strut bar
and alot of polish >:]
sucks that you can't lower it, but I understand living in a non-flat area. But yeah I think if you lower the front a little so the front and rear are the same height that'll probably be the best thing you can do in your situation. Love the lude man.
Nice work with the kit, I've not seen that one before. It's wierd because there aren't too many aftermarket kits that look good on a Prelude, but this one does. What does the future hold, other than a minor drop?
thanks everyone :> dont have a long term plan for my prelude atm, thats part of the reason i came to this site, alot of information on what to do and not to do so right now im just do what i can to learn as much as possible.

Hey you damn Kiwi, that's my door sills you're talking about! Haha
You said you had a VVTi type SH, I never knew they made 4WS with ATTS on the same car, I think it kind of defeats the purpose. Can you give us some pictures of the 4WS and ATTS unit to prove my "$600 door-sill-paying-ass" wrong?

Where does he say he has 4WS and ATTS?
The VTi in Europe had available 4WS but did not offer ATTS. However, in Aussie and NZ (I believe they follow the same market). The VTi-R was offered and I think had ATTS. The only trim level with available 4WS was the Si.
See wikipedia for market chart and chassis variations...
I swear everytime I look on this "prelude definition" on wikipedia, it's always changed. Now there is a chart up, which is useful, but it looks like it's changed information from last time. I can honestly say I've never heard of an Si trim for the 5th gen before. But now it lists it.
And I thought it said before that all Vti's had 4ws, now it's saying it came with or without. So when he said he had a vti type sh, that's what threw me for a loop.
I don't know how much I believe Wikipedia anymore since it can be updated by anyone. If there was another solid source of information, I'd say I was wrong, but I think we need pictures to double check that the info on Wiki was right.

...Hey, Wiki is an anagram for Kiwi, hahaha!
This section of the world (AU, NZ, etc) only had BB5 and BB6 chassis cars sent here by Honda. The VTi-R is equivalent to the USDM base model, and the VTiR ATTS was the same car with ATTS added. The Si spec car ran the F22Z DOHC non-vtec engine and a four lug hub, complete with a set of 15" rims that look like they went missing of a SE fourth gen.
The only 4WS cars in this neck of the woods would be privately imported cars. Although in NZ they can privately import practically anything...bastards.
nice looking kit, im going to Australia this summer i'm looking forward to checking out some ludes over there
