Molded RS lip/shaved sidemarkers/no56k

It's finally done! After countless hours of sanding I finished it last weekend, now it just needs paint. This project started with a wrecked RS lip that I bought for $20, I fixed that. I then decided to mold it, and eventually shave the sidemarkers. Just wanted to share before I get it painted.

looks good... but... doesn't seem all that "molded" to me... when I think molded, I think of seamless... but it DOES look good though

Ludecy: What did you use to plug up the sidemarker holes before you put on the filler?

98PreludeVtec- Mugen rear also.

thepreludedude- Its easy you can do it.

LUDExCONDUCT- I put stucko wire mesh behind the holes with a piece of masking tape so the urethane patch wouldn't drip everywhere when I first applied it. I was just going to put a piece of plastic behind but I thought this might hold better because it lets the material fill it in and bond with the back surface of the bumper.

Right on man I think I'm gonna have to try this before I bring my car to the bumper to the shop to get painted. Thanks!

WOOOW - it looks great!
Great craftmanship
I can't wait to see the final product after the paint job.

So, no more mugen front?!?!
Whoa...CF eye lids, you don't see those everyday.
Are those gunmetal painted base rims?

Man what primer did you use? The primer color mixed w/ the RS lip molded onto the stock bumper looks OEM now.

natcc99-The mugen still needs some work to fit 100% but I plan on switching between the two. Yes they are gunmetal base rims. I have a few more picts if you want to see them.

LUDExCONDUCT- Krylon primer.

Thanks for the comments.

LOOKING GOOOOD!!!!

are you going to shave off the license plate holes?

You did a very nice job on those rims.
They look great.
I'm a little sad about my rims because the previous owner stripped the clear coat off them. They don't look all that great anymore.

mmmm...I wonder if gunmetal base rims would look good on a red car.
I'll have to think about it.

Thanks for the pic!

are you coming to the BAP SF meet?

The gunmetal would look nice on your car. The previous owner curbed the rims badly, so I got out the orbital grinder and it erased the curb marks. Then I just sanded them down with some 80 grit, primed them, painted them. So far I have had them on for about 800mi and no rock chips. The paint says it's track tested, I highly doubt it but it is strong. Im leaving the license plate holes because if I get a fix it ticket I need a bumper to mount the plate on.
I will be at the S.F. meet so you could check them out then.

Thanks.
