Don't you love those GSD3's? I sold mine on a set of Volks, how I miss them.

that's great that you actually take your car to the track
i've only done autocrossing a few times....i can only image what's it like to go faster. quite scary to think about it actually.

what track classes did you take before racing the prelude?

keep it up.
awesome pictures.

do you get hassle by the RWD crowd when you're there?
some give me crap when i'm at the autocross track.

Great looking car and pictures. How do you like the Torinos compared to the stock seats? I'm looking to get new seats.

Edit - I added the link to the Laguna Seca video to the first post.

I took a 2-day course at Laguna Seca about 4 years ago, then started driving at the track regularly. The course helped, but so did the instructors at the track events.

Correction - I am not racing, just driving like a teenager on a double-dose of testosterone.

No hassles, but usually positive comments, like from an ex-Indy Car mechanic who said he though it was the best looking car in the paddock, and others have asked what kind of car it was, so I guess 5th gen Preludes are kinda rare.

I like them. They took a little getting used since the side bolsters are stiff and I am not a little guy. I just learned to sit with my legs straighter. I've sat in them for some long road trip (to/from Salt Lake City, Pheonix, and Las Vegas from the Sacto area) and I have no complaints about comfort.

They make a world of different at the track. Before I got them I had a hell of a time staying in my seat in the turns.

My only complaint, after 3 years they are fading, but otherwise are holding up fine.

It's not scary, but it's definitely novel. The two truns that follow it can get scary if you let yourself think that getting through the corkscrew is the hard part. You get up to speed pretty fast going down that hill.

The approach to the corkscrew is more technical than one would think. You're climbing a hill at full throttle (about 85 mph in my car) and you can't see the turning point until you're almost on it, then you have a slight right bend and a dip in teh track to deal with just as you are braking hard. Once you get that all done right, you're at about 25 mph, you turn left, lining up the car with marks in the track or the landscape (You can't really see down the corkscrew that well yet) then you launch off the hill. It's fun. Check out the video.

holy body roll batman, time for some more suspension. I hate you for being able to race at Laguna Seca. Keep up the good work.

Since you are already in Cali, you should be able to find a club to go to the track with. Check my NorCal track events list at:

or my 2006 calendar at:
