JDM H22 Swap & Build (Week 1)

For some reason I can't hotlink images from here on PO, but most other forums allow me too :shrugs:

Anyways the pics can be seen here:

http://ds2000.fotopic.net/c550141.html

Basically, somebody had incorrectly fitted my crank pulley, which over time has rounded the crank shaft off - so the engines out for a rebuild with Type-S Pistons and CAMs plus a major clean up!

I'm fitting my spare JDM H22 in the mean time.

I'm doing all the work myself so if you are interested then watch this space

Nice Dave, looks like fun and congrats on saving yourself money and doing it yourself.

I'm trying to get the balls to do the work myself when I go forged rods and pistons in my MSP.

Probably won't end up doing it myself for fear of screwing up and ruining a car with only 6k on it.

Cheers Mark,

I guess thats the major difference really, I picked this lude up for peanuts, the new engine was only $380

I think the Type-S build should be interesting and a lil scarey!

Voted for your car in the calender too

We'll then I guess you can't beat that. A great price for an engine and you get to practice tearing it down and build a mechanical knowledge at the same time.

Guess I'll be on the lookout for an engine I can "practice" on. Maybe I'll fly you over the pond when I decide to do this so I have an experienced mechanic helping out

Thanks for the vote, it would be nice to see her in the calendar considering I haven't seen her in a year. I good one year anniversary gift
