I am soo amazed by those mods, I never thought the 4th gen was soo unique and had so many options...but I guess with a little time and effort it can be something really special...Like yours!

Good job!

What was involved in getting the Lexus rearview to work and can it do temp as well as compas? I've seen some like that and would LOVE to have it my 5th gen.

three wires, 12v, gnd, and one hooked to the reverse light to clear the mirror if dimmed.
For a mirror that has the temp it may involve a few more wires and a sensor, but i'm not sure.

All you gotta do is remove your existing mirror entirely, and mount the temp/compass mirror most likely using one of those metal button mount like most card have them nowadays.

You'll have to remove the headliner and tap into the corresponding wires for 12v, ground, etc....i can recommend you the same guy i got my mirror from on ebay for about $70.00
Last time i checked he had a lot of variety and was very helpful when it came to installing info

Nice job! I love the long console in the rear since it is the only lockable storage of any size...

I added a round grille between my rear seats for my 15" sub mounted behind the rear driver's side/center area. I thought about going rectangular as yours, but I went with the round first and I can always go larger after. Mine is actually a 4" speaker box port with speaker cloth over it, but it looks like a round speaker. I thought it better matched the rear deck grilles, but may change after seeing how yours came out. Nice work! Now I now I'm not the only one who's anal about their interior as I am; nice to see one of my kind...

Pure Hotness....this thread further affirms my feeling to own a 4th gen again, as a 2nd car this time.

[QUOTE=Bertico78]

EL cluster swap converted to violet-white using three pieces of pink acetate

I have a question about this.... How did u do this, and where do I get the acetate?? I would like to make my gauges become a white color though.... I dont need a full explaination on how to remove the gauges... Specially since I have a 5th gen.. But how did u apply the acetate.. This could be a dumb question, since it probably just sticks on..

Clean car man...I've always loved it. My interior is coming closer and closer to being similar to yours. I've got my differences, though.

How did you do the color conversion in the switches? Mine are all burnt out and need replacing anyways, so I figure why not!

The pink acetate basically filters the green out of the 4th gen EL gauges but won't have the same effect on the 5th gen amber lighting. Someone on the 5th gen forum made his gauges BRIGHT WHITE using LEDs, might have been PiOuS.....try a search...it's there

It's real easy. you just need a bunch of Ebay hong kong 3 or 5 mm LEDs (pick your color) with their corresponding resistors. many sellers throw in 12v resistors when you buy from them. Take apart your switches and replace bulb by soldering the LED in its place with the resistor on the positive trace; sand the LED to smoothen out the beam so there will be no hot spots on the lighting
