First time BB6 owner, not first time Honda owner :)

Hello all,

I have been considering picking up a BB6 for years. I was always scared away by the excessive weight, but I have finally reached a point in my life where I am ok with a nice daily driver/stock class autocrosser that is a little on the portly side . When I was in college, I was obsessed with weight or the lack of it. My car had to be as light as possible, which led to gutted, loud, uncomfortable rides I can no longer tolerate that with my 70 mile (round trip) daily commute and here I am--super stock BB6 and I love it.

Here are a couple snaps of some of my old rides:

And now for my current beauty

Glad to be part of the community!

Thanks! I love EK's too, but they are thief MAGNETS here in CA, so I will not have one again, at least for a long while...

I am trying to keep the car as close to stock as possible at least aesthetically. I will add an OEM front lip soon. Koni Yellows, sticky rubber (either Yokohama AD08's or Hankook RS3's) and maybe I,H,E. I was thinking of slapping on a low key Apexi Noir or Vibrant exhaust--great sound/performance and not gaudy.

Good deal. A Type S lip would be perfect with the SH painted sides and rear.

Sweet, thanks for the links. That is exactly what I had in mind.

good suggestions chuitron!

another low key exhaust that sounds great is the Thermal R&D exhaust.

Thanks for the suggestion. I really like the Apexi Noir and Vibrant (Black Series) exhausts because they are...black hehe. They are super stealth and sound great.

I had this on my GSR back in the day. Spot the muffler? hehe:

ah, nice.

yeah, I actually painted my muffler black for that exact reasoning.

I'm not sure though if those exhausts are available for the Prelude.

one thing you'll notice coming from cars with lots of aftermarket support (EK and Miata), is that the Prelude has very little aftermarket support

where in Cali do you live? there's a group of SoCalers and we get together every once in a while. although most of them have moved on from the Prelude hah.

Yeah, it looks like the aftermarket support is pretty small compared to Civics and Miatas, but that's ok. At least when it comes to exhausts. I usually get my piping custom bent and then I add the muffler/cat/resonator.

I am also counting on the lack of popularity to deter thieves. My EG was stolen years ago and I never completely healed I moved away from Honda's for that reason. I was always concerned about my cars (EK, DC2, DB2) everywhere I went. Hopefully things go well this time around. I freakin love my BB6. Its a one owner car, all records since new, etc etc.

I am located in Norcal so I doubt I will make it to any meets/events. Although I have never driven Willow Springs or Buttonwillow...hint hint

sorry to hear about your stolen EG the EG was the car that made me like cars, there was an EG coupe down the street that I lusted over when I was young.

there are a bunch of cool norcal people on this site too! Nat from Blacktrax has a 5th gen and her and her husband's shop is in Milpitas.

I was at Buttonwillow this past summer!

there's actually a little bit of talking going on right now about Blacktrax hosting an event in 2011 at Thunderhill.

Yeah, its freakin mint! It has 125k commute miles. The previous owner bought it in Oct 2000 and drove it 5 days a week to work in the silicon valley (he lives in Los Gatos, CA).

Awesome. I have heard of Blacktrax but I have never visited their shop. I LOVE T-hill. Is such a blast to drive! If I am not working (I travel a lot for work) I will DEFINITELY be there!

That's is awesome that you drove Buttonwillow. Hopefully you rocked better tires than the ones currently on your Volks

Here is another snap I took of my ride:

looks great!

couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic, or maybe you saw an old shot of the wheels with my old tires on em, but I currently have R compounds on there

haven't taken them off since the event, and since now I'm able to just drive the car for fun, I think they're gonna stay on there haha.

OH LOL! I am an idiot! Somehow I missed your NT-01's in the "fall shoot." I was looking at the pic in our sig. It looks like you have(had) sumitomo HTRZIII's or Ziex 912's on there. Oops!

BTW, rolling on R comps is the shizzle. I used to run R888's on my daily driven e36--loved it
