Chubbs' 97 Base

Figured its about time that I post one of these threads. I love this car. She's got 178,000 on the clock, but 10,000 on a top end rebuild. The suspension is awesome, it drives so nice. Anybody in the New England area want to trade there oem style CF hood for mine? Sorry for the the car being FILTHY in every single picture. Its hard to keep a white car clean when you live on an unpaved road in the middle of winter. This summer plenty of awesome pictures will be coming. Anyways:

The day I bought her:

Did a bunch of interior cleaning, and non picture worthy things like that. Then, I got fresh wheels 17" Konig Feathers and stock tail lights:

Added a sticker on each side to let people know:

Tackled the valve cover paint job:

Before:

And After:

Skunk 2 Shift knob, Autoz Concept Gauge Cluster, Alpine CDA105 head unit, and 12" Alpine Type R sub.

And this is a just for fun picture, of my car and my buddies 04 Mustang Cobra up on jacks. Doing an oil change on the prelude, as for the cobra...well, its getting more go fast parts:

Engine:
AEM Cold Air Intake
OBX Plug Wires
Lightened Flywheel
Stage 2 Clutch
Axle Back Exhaust, not sure what brand
Cams, not sure what brand

Interior:
Autoz Concepts Gauge Cluster
Skunk 2 Weighted Shift Knob

Exterior:
Projector Head lights
Fresh White Paint
VIS Carbon Fiber Hood
Mesh Grille
Super dark tint in the back, 35% Mass Legal up front.

Suspension:
Ground Control Coilovers
17" Konig Feathers
205/45/17 Toyo Proxies
Front Upper DC Sports Strut Tower Bar
Rear Lower DC Sports Strut Tower Bar
Drilled and Slotted Rotors

ICE:
Alpine CDA105
Pioneer GMT-5200 Amp.
Alpine Type R 12"
6.5" Boston Acoustic speakers in the doors.

Misc:
Hidden Kill Switch
Shocker Oil Cap
Shocker Radiator Cap

Future Mods:
JTC Customs Short Shifter set up,
Infinity Speakers all around, amped.
Different amp for my sub, bridged to 285 watts rms isn't enough.
Ebay fogs.

I guess the prelude curse is true...

Well, some guy cut me off today real bad. I was going through an intersection, and he was stopped to turn into the gas station with out a blinker on. I went through the intersection and he cut me off. I locked em up and swerved around him [whats up coil overs and drilled and slotted rotors?] and made it around him, however, couldn't avoid the connecting rod to the telephone pole. I slid off the rode and into it, didn't hit the pole though. Bumped snapped in half, Tie Rod broke, fender is dented and my inner wheel-wells are gone. Everything else, including the passenger and I are okay. We just finished fixing the anti freeze leak from the thermostat and were taking it for a test drive. I'm not too happy about this...we'll see what insurance has to say tomorrow.

I didn't get any real good pictures, I was still kinda freaking out.

So, is your coolant leak fixed? lol.

Looks like all the damage is in one small area and not spread all over the car, so it could have been much worse. Are you filing a claim against the driver that failed to signal or going through your own insurance?

Yeah, my coolant leak is fine. wooo. As a matter of fact, I was with my friend who was helping me work on it and while its on the flat bed I go...well atleast there isn't a puddle underneath!

And i'm not sure yet, I have to go talk to my insurance company tomorrow and i'll go from there.

See, it's not all bad.

I just got my car back from the bodyshop after the beating it took this winter. Admittedly mine wasn't damaged as bad as yours, but it's still not the end of the world. I see nothing in that picture that would lead me to believe your car is totaled. The front fenders and bumper are easy to replace, as well as the suspension components. The most expensive part of the repair will probably be paint. Hopefully insurance will cover it.

You're in agawam eh? I live in southwick. The car was previously my buddies car.

The accident is a real bummer, but its nothing too bad. I'm more mad at myself, even though it wasn't really my fault. We'll have to see what the police and insurance say tomorrow.

Really? We'll have to meet up some time this summer and check each others cars out, no ****. Haha. Anyways, insurance is covering this as long as I pay my $500 deductable. I'm going to try to get my side skirts and rear lip painted to match the car while they're painting the front bumper whenever it gets fixed.

I'm pretty sure judging by engine bay my car was originally black. the door jams have some white with almost sparkles in them, and my buddy the previous owner painted it ford white. Matches cop cars...wonderful.

Insurance estimated my damage at about $1600. and thats not getting it on a lift and finding the broken tie rod and stuff like that. pretty sure i'm getting new fender, mirror, doors and stuff like that. I'm not complaining!

I live up in the hills, more toward Granby. Where abouts in Agawam do you live? You'll probably see this car at asp a lot this summer haha.
