I got a CLARION NX409 head unit...

First time poster here, but have been lurking for a while - mainly checking out these build threads. Makes me anxious to get my car here (having issues with a vehicle shipment).

Really nice work with your car, Busabos. I think I'm most impressed with the interior work thus far. I agree with others, can't wait to see you go to work with a turbo.

My question is how did you get that Clarion unit in? I was thinking about picking up that unit for a different vehicle, but since I recently bought a 99 I know that this size unit wouldn't naturally fit in the stereo console. Usually there is a divider and room for a standard deck.

Did you have to do some customizing on your own (cutting out that divider) or did you have someone do it for you? Just curious, because I really like that head-unit and all the options it has with it. I've got a touch-screen unit in my 2010 Jetta and I just don't think I can go back to a regular CD-deck. Thanks in advance!

The stereo and pocket below will come out as one piece leaving a hole that is the size of the head unit shown. No modifications needed. I have a pioneer in mine, same looks double din Nav and DVD.
