Built Turbo Prelude Finally Tuned!!! - Honda Prelude Forum

After 2 years of trials tribulations, blown motors, blown turbos, rebuilds, heartache, sweat, tears, blood (ok, just cuts on my hand from pulling the head and motor, but still), and general emotional breakdown, I think she's finally solid as can be. Just got her tuned yesterday. Since it's been down for 2 years it's a little rough around the edges on the looks side, but she'll be getting her WWRS lip kit back on Sunday. Dying to put the stock hood back on, but just have to get some dents out of it (Do'H). Here she is about to get it on...

Here's what she threw down on 12-13 psi, which is relatively low for my build. It should easily break 400+ on pump gas (16-17psi) and hoping for 500+ on race fuel (22-24 psi if I ever have the cojones

).

I plan on turning up the boost after I put a restrictor in the oil feed line (oil pressure spikes at 80psi

), vent the valve cover/crank case to catchcans, and get some cock diesel hose clamps. On this current tune, I hit full boost around 4ish and annihilate my poor tires almost all the way through 1st (from a roll) and pretty much anything after 5K in second. On the highway, it's a very unassuming low comfortable quiet hum, but when I get on it, it's like awaking a beast. Drives great so far for my personal preferences, it's exactly what I wanted and more than I expected for the "low boost tune."

I'll have shots of the engine bay, full dyno sheet, and some video clips up in a bit. Here is what's under the hood (or at least what I can remember):

I'll be back in FL this summer, I'm in Ohio finishing law school in may. Orlando is my heart! CFT did build me a solid turbo kit, but they are a busy shop so you must have mass patience to deal with them sometimes. They also have a pretty busy race schedule from what I remember as well. What I really liked about them was that I never felt like I was being avoided. I call and they pick up (afternoons tho, haha) Even now over a year later I call them back and they remember me and we catch up. Fernando, Sergio, and Rolo are all really cool guys, but if you want to talk to Javier (the Mechanic), I hope you know Spanish (luckily I do

hey man congrats.... im in the same boat 2 motors later.... fully built bottom semi built head. i might not that hight of numbers but it sounds like i might get pretty close. impressive setup... and good luck w/ the rest of the tuning.

Tight fit... I'm going back to Florida so I gotta keep the AC hoses.

Ceramic Coating helps keep it cool down there. During tuning and street driving temps were very much as normal as can be. Yes that's a stock radiator.

Got rid of that horrible stock manifold design... But still running stock TB for now

Yep, still rockin' power steering...

Still gotta tuck and screw everything away neatly. I was too excited to drive it, I'll take care of that tomorrow.

The manifold was custom made by CFT's fabricator. not sure if its the optimal design but the numbers say it works. I had it ceramic coated up here in Ohio along with my hotside.

you get to keep AC and PS plus full stock radiator....id say not bad at all
