This is my first thread in Member's Rides. My car isn't usually picture material, with the ugly black base side & rear trim and no body kit. Plus she's got a few bruises on the front bumper. But my car has been looking pretty racy for most of the summer and we have had the pleasure of having some amateur photographers shooting local autocrosses. So I present to you some pictures of my car doing what it does best.
Both of these pictures are from the Washington DC ProSolo, which is the reason for all the stickers on the car. I didn't do that great, facing off against the best competition in the Northeast, but it was a lot of fun.
This is probably my favorite picture. I am negotiating a slolam. You should be ALMOST as close as I am to the cones when driving a slolam. The lot is at a Boeing Helicopter Factory. It's a fairly small lot, but it teaches you "go slow to go fast" and to look ahead b/c the elements come up real fast.
More pics from the same event.
These pics are from an old airstrip we run at in Warminster, PA. The length of the runway means we can run fairly fast and long courses. But the skinnyness means the course it always and "out and back" with a lot of transitions or < 90deg turns inbetween.
Nice pics Paul! I wish I could do AutoX. Too far away from places.

My broken wings how far should I go drifting in the wind.
Paul nice pics!! did you see some maxima's running? I'm pretty sure one guy there was running...it's a black 5th gen maxima (like mine) wiht bronze/gold 5zigen FNO1C's.... he's famous on the maxima.org forum for autocrossing with his like 1000 camera's on his car. lol. And he's decent at auto-xing too. =P
Wow nice pics.Paul do u mind if I come with u to one of the auto-x events?I really want to join auto-x
Not at all. I'd be glad to show you the ropes. Check the schedule at phillyscca.com/solo and PM me if you are able to make any of the events. I rarely miss a Philly Region autocross.

I've seen several Maximas at various autocrosses but never that one. The way the Philly region events run is with a half-day sessions, and him being in EP is in the opposite session from me. I can tell that that pic is Ripken Stadium. We run there, and so does DC Region. I'll keep and out out for it.

Nice pictures. You still have my Rota's huh?
Did you get hit in the front driver corner? Your hood looks a little messed up there.
Yup, those are your Rotas.
Two winters ago I hit a patch of ice and slid into a guiderail. I wasn't going fast. It scratched up the front bumper, broke the drivers side turnsignal, broke two of the headlight tabs, and bent the sheatmetal right by the headlight some. So to keep the headlight from rattling I zip-tied it in place. It just sits and little sunken in. It's on my list to fix it better, but I have been too lazy to remove the front bumper, and they have been cracking down on us not working on cars at my apartment complex.

Great pics, thanks for sharing those! The only autocrossing I did was when my car was stock, and I definitely learned that slow is fast. Everytime I tried to use the power I would end up too hot going into a turn. I learned two things about my Prelude Type SH:
1) the backend is very unstable, I spun out several times accelerating out of tight turns and braking from speed trying to enter tight turns.
2) it's a b*tch to get it into first gear if you're moving over 5 mph.
I haven't autocrossed since I installed the neuspeed sports, koni yellows, and 215/40/17's but I can tell the car is a lot more planted and the weight transfer to the rear is more controlled. Using more shock damping in the rear seems to help keep it planted.
The dimple on the hood is actually from his car sliding into a trailer.. we parked at Andrew's place infront of some construction trailer thing.. I told him to park somewhere else and it ended up with a dimple from sliding into it no clue why on earth the car moved forward..
