97' Painted CF Hood w Mugen Kit

Hi Guys, I've been on here a couple of months and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm based in Texas and thought i would share my 97' Prelude Base, bought it stock not too long ago and it's come quite a ways since then.

LudeSaint77's 97' Honda Prelude Base
San Marino Red
5sp Manual

I'll start out by saying I've had some bad/good luck with this thing from the start, but everything's worked out. I don't plan on doing any performance mod's cause my view is unless you go turbo or pour in serious cash you're not gonna get these babies going all that fast. That and I got it for the looks, reliability and pretty decent gas mileage for a sports car.

But I digress, like 2 weeks after I bought it I hit a suicidal deer(luckily I was going like 15mph). Took out my hood and headlights. Yay, full coverage insurance. Then before I could even get that fixed a lady backed into my front bumper.

Got VIS Invader hood, new oem headlights, and front bumper all installed and here's how she looked.

Then I found pics of DMT's Lude and got the mugen replica bug. I searched and searched and luckily got all the parts. I got the oem replica front and got everything installed and painted. I also had them tint the cf hood with pearl red paint mixed with clearcoat along with a stripe of red to match the fenders better.

They actually didn't have to put a bunch of screws into the plastic side step like most people did. They took them off and secured the side skirts under. They didn't have to use bondo or anything to get the molded look with the rears they used some really strong adhesive to attach to the oem rear trim and painted it very well. I'm just glad it finally looks like I want it to.

lip kit looks like it fits well. unless your car has been repainted it is san marino red (97-98) not milano red (99-01). regardless always good to have more red ludes.

Where's the Mugen front? Kinda not liking the hood, just hate the big vent on those, prefer to have a OEM style or JS but that is only for 4g and have it color matched to the car.

I don't like the look of the Mugen bumper. The space for the fogs always looked a little awkward to me so I went with the oem replica lip. That and I had just gotten that bumper painted from when the lady hit it.

Yea, I've read a lot of luders on here tend to recommend the oem cf hood, but I like the scoop and it helps a bit with cooling too I'm sure. I figure if I want the oem look again I'll go to a junk yard and pick up a red hood and have it painted for a lot less than painting a cf one.

Thanks for the correction PreludeDude. I still have much to learn haha
