2001 Prelude one year later progression! around 6,000$ later
Hey everyone! I bought my 2001 base honda prelude about a year ago (July 18, 2008) and I wanted you all the check out what I have done to it in the past year. I have gotten a lot of great ideas and feedback through this site and thought I would share with you all what I have done. Hopefully to inspire and get some good feedback on what you guys think of her so far. Mostly everything has been cosmetic beside a few engine upgrades and some routine maintenance. I will post the pictures of it when I bought it and the progress to what it currently looks like! I own and operate a small car and limo detailing company in Raleigh, NC and am currently a Business Marketing major so I work on my prelude in my spare time, and love every minute of it. Although I have spent about $6,000 on mostly cosmetics and few engine upgrades, they are coming next Will be doing some powder coat work and engine upgrades next! Hope you all enjoy and don't forget to BUMP when you view! Thank you all! Updated pics on each page!

Super clean man, from a fellow NC luder!! I'm in Charlotte though. I have a cousin with a prelude up in Raleigh that goes to NC State too.
But I tried to find a single thing wrong with the body/paint and I couldn't!! lol. My vote goes to some type of lip kit and your car will be the hawtness

FELLOW NC LUDER! thanks for the kind comment man! I am taking your advice and am currently in the process of buying an oem front lip, I will be painting and installing it soon hopefully! Thanks again man, let me know if you come here for any meets!!
I can't see your car because I can't see the pictures of it, but I will replace this comment with my opinion later when I get on a computer that can see these pictures!
Your floor mats have floor mats. Seems like a good time for an Xibit style comment...

sounds good man! are you currently deployed? My brother is going back to Afghanistan soon. Not happy about it
I think it's very tastefully done. Good job on painting the oem sides and rear I think everyone with a base needs to do that the stock black sucks. Nice work!
i agree, a full lip kit and exhaust would set it off.
However the blue calipers are very ricey, you need to respray them with silver or black. Blue is not complimentary to silver at all.
I am suprised that you say that! I have had a lot of people say they like the blue color scheme with the silver, I will keep that in mind though man. I am trying to keep it clean looking so I am not going to throw blue everywhere, I just thought it looked good behind the wheels. I am getting an oem lip next week and painting it for the front bumper. Hey, but your car is blue....with silver wheels.... jk thanks for the comments man

thanks!! I am eventually going to get the full oem kit like you have on yours, which looks great by the way. as i said to a few others, i am getting the oem front lip and painting it next week to add, ill post pics when i do that tool. Thanks again for the comments man!
oh yeah and I forgot to say Steelers FTW!!! (I just noticed your front plate) nice
hahhaa thanks man! I had it on there until recently and decided to take it off because it was a little tacky You hear about Big Ben getting sued for sexual harassment? yeeaa....baddd news
thanks! Your car in your avatar and it was actually one of the few that I saw on here that inspired me to paint my sides and rear skirt! When I clayed and simonized the paint it really really brought out the shine and restored the metallic luster, yours is satin silver too, i highly recommend you clay it man. its great!
How much was that Kenwood screen if don't mind me asking
at the time when I bought it in november it was 900 but i found one on ebay from a guy going out of business in NY for only like 550. Brand new, sealed, and it is great man. especially when you hook up the bluetooth to your phone so you can talk in the car over your speakers, hands free, voice dial, gps, dvd, the works man. check ebay though first for sure man
PS your car looks amazing....I don't have $hit on that lol
what headers do you have man? and, that exhaust sound good? I hate throaty ricey exhausts but that looks great!

thanks a lot! your car is looking pretty good too I am ordering that OEM lip pronto, everyone says it will look great. When I restored the headlights I bought some meguiars plastic polish, (6$) got some 2000 grit sandpaper, (5$) taped off the surrounding areas like in the picture, wet sanded them lightly for a WHILE. you have to be patient and let the paper do the work, then used a fluffy polishing wheel from home depot, attached that to a power drill and polished the headlights after wet sanding them. it was easy, took patience, but now the look brand new! Thanks for the comments man!
Alright man, you don't have to keep bumping your thread like it's a for sale thread. When people want to check out your car, they will. I never believed in bumping my build thread except for updates and new pictures. I'm just offering some advice here, not to create a fight.
You keep it clean enough, that in and of itself should speak for itself of the work you've put into it. And people will take note.

just wondering, why all the decals on the trunk? btw the headlights look phenomenal!
thanks! I put them in there for car shows, people constantly ask what is done and that is easier than listing most of the parts! Keeps them hidden, looks decent, and I dont want them all out in the open
Looking good so far. What color is your car? What did you spray on the engine bay to bring that shine out?
thanks, it is satin silver metallic, I just really brought the shine out with some products from work. I own a detailing company and make most of my own stuff. the engine bay has a mixture of a silicon dressing, ammonia, and some other ingredients,,,,, power wash, spray with my solution, wipe it down, and vwaaalaaahhh!
Thanks for the comments man, gotta get some retros from you next!

its very unique, never seen anyone do that before. cars clean, SQUEAKY clean!

I like to keep it as clean as possible man! I own a detailing company, so if my car isn't clean it looks bad on me. Glad you like the decals man, I like to keep it different than the usual, Thanks again for the comments!
