Basically a little box you connect a hard drive to with media on, then connect to your tv via HDMI or Composite. Will play 1080p files without problems. Supports many different formats, and Western Digital comes out with updates every so often for further support.
There are a bunch of customer firmwares that you can load onto this to use a usb network controller so you can stream directly from a network share.
I've gone to a different house-wide playing solution, and no longer need this. Was used for a little over 6 months. Comes with box, manual, remote, and player.
