any muffler shop has a universal one in the area of $40-150 depending on where u go....but if u want a prelude specific one its ofcourse alot more.
I paid $60 at A&B muffler in Arlington.

If you want to spend a little more money you can buy a high-flow cat from Magnaflow for ~$90. That's what I did.

^ Virtually anywhere that sells Magnaflow. I got mine online. Can't remember where, exactly. Tomorrow night I can look through my records and find it if you need to. If you search for either a "carsound converter" or "magnaflow converter" you'll find places that sell them. (Carsound is the same as Magnaflow, BTW)

Did you check what the code was or are you just guessing? check out the code first before you spend money on a cat you might not need. how many miles are on your car? oem cats are supposed to last a long time unless you've got engine problems.

Well I am guessing about the light but I was told by several people that my cat was screwed up and I need to do something about it.But the light is still up so I still need to check the code to see what the problem is.

^ x2. Definitely don't replace the cat until you know for sure that it is out. The car will still run fine without it working. Unless you have to pass emissions soon, whats the rush?

my light came on not too long ago. turned out it was the O2 sensor. have someone scan your car for the code.

^ either use the MIL code trick with a paper clip or go to autozone and have them pull it with a OBDII scanner.

can't guess at it because it could be anything. just check the code urself. it'll take 2 mins.

get a paper clip or a piece of wire. get to the service connector on the passenger side, behind the carpeted panel on the left side, below the glovebox. remove the blue holder thing and take out the cable, the end looks like a cat5. take ur wire and connect both the ports. then put ur key in the ignition and turn it to where the lights light up. then u'll see the cel lighjt flashing. count the number of long flashes. thats the first number. then count the number of short flashes. second number. then just do a search here to find out what the code means.
