water tasting funny?

ok i know we are in a drought (excessive)

but i just recently noticed the tap water tasting different. and when i took a shower i could actually smell a different scent of water. am i going crazy or has anyone else noticed this???

i guess it depends on the city you live in but i live in frisco and yeah does kinda smell!

It's algae that "turns" when lake levels get low. Tastes like dirt, right? It's harmless, just annoying. Pretty common anywhere unless you use a filtration system at home- invest in a Brita or fridge/tap filtration system if you want to get rid of it.

^lol a whole house system is probably $$$$

yeah i just drink out of the fridge filter. its just taking a shower/brushing my teeth, i notice it pretty bad

buy a brita filtered pitcher if you wanna go cheap ($30?). I heart brita - tastes so much better than tap.

Not whole house- you can get them that go under the sink for your tap. Or installs an additional drinking water tap (more economical long-term).

The Brita pitcher-systems work well but are a PITA if you drink a lot of water.
