VTEC brake upgrade

I'll be doing one soon. Last night I picked up some calipers with slotted rotors still on 'em. They're rusted as hell, though. If they seem to be in straight/uncracked condition I may just put 'em on for the sake of looks for a while. I figure what the hell, I got 'em virtually free. The piston gaskets, or whatever they're called, are cracked so I need to get some sort of caliper re-build kit from Honda.
Also, while they're off the car I'd like to paint them, but not sure if I want to go with red or silver calipers. My car is the Milano Red and I'm not sure the brake caliper red paints available will match. Then again, it may not be that obvious since they're partially hidden. I have silver wheels with a polished lip, so I'm thnking just silver....not sure if bronze or gold would look good.
Thoughts?

-Andy

While you are doing the brake upgrade why not do a 5 lug swap also?

You should be able to get parts cheap from a junk yard.

i did the vtec swap. i painted my calipers silver (high temp paint) and they look find. but i bought everything new.

its a great upgrade. straight plug and play. i would bend back the dust cover though, it always hits

5 lug swap is more than you think. ask casey. he was going to do it and buy my old rims but after he got a price on everything he couldnt do it. i think he said it would cost nearly 450 to 500 for the 5 lug swap.

as for the paint, do not do silver with silver rims. then u will have to much going on. the G2 caliper paint is a bright red. looks good after you put a clear cote on it. will stand out against your paint even tho its hidden.

so i would look into maybe black. but after you do the clear is shines blk and looks nice. im doing my blk here soon. and the research that i did.....get the G2 caliper paint.....well if you can get any pics of what their gold looks like then maybe try that. but IMO i would do blk.

Yeah, not too rushed to do the 5 lug swap right now. The wheels/tires I have now are just fine and I have plenty of other more important things to spend my money on.

Thanks for the input guys.
