probably a dumb question, but...

I don't see how it could harm anything, but I figured I'd ask just in case there is something that I am missing...

Would it cause any harm to slightly reem-out the hubcentric rings on my wheels? The wheels aren't sitting completely flush against the brake rotor because the inner diameter of the hubcentric rings are a tad bit too small. 20 seconds with a Dremel would take care of the problem though.

Is there any corrosion on your hub? I would clean the hub surface first, the bug rings need to be a good fit or they won't do anything. Just get in there with a wire brush and scrub away. But no, shaving some off the the hub rings will not cause any harm, just dont take too much off or the rings will be to large.

1) the rings don't need to be there at all. There is no reason to toss them as the wheel will center up fine with the lug nuts.

2) you should NEVER use a ring that does not allow the wheel to fit flush against the rotor face. If so, you are depending on a VERY thin piece of metal to maintain proper torque on the lug nuts.

As JP mentioned, make sure that everything is clean in the first place.

While 99% of the time the wheel will center up but there are times when it does not. I wouldn't worry about hub rings unless you get a vibration after tires are installed. Also, be sure you use the right lug nuts as the factory ball seat lugs are not the proper fit for your new wheels.
