you could try that...

Or just tape the liscense plate on for a photo op and drive it to the court like that so the ticket gets dismissed. Much easier.

It's a bill that AFAIK wasn't actually enacted. Meaning it was proposed but not made into law.

So cops cant get u ticketed for this? i wonder why they bother pulling pple over then or its just a reason to pull over and then maybe get u for sumpthin else.....(the reason i pulled you over was for no front license plate...but forget that im more interested in the beer bottle btwn your console )

No, meaning that TX has had a front plate law for years and should still have one. AFAIK they have always been able to and can pull you over simply for not having a front plate.

TX has had an open container law since ~ 1995 and AFAIK they don't have to have a reason to pull you over. If they suspect you of DUI based on behavior they can pull you over. If you have an open container in your car you're going to be in deep **** no matter what.

yeah i know the open container one(i was goofing off on that) but the front plate thing is kinda subjective what about people who drive corvettes and cars that dont generally have that slot for the plate?????

I just recently got ticketed for not having a front plate. I had to go buy the mounting kit and everything on top of paying the fine...

SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act regarding the
issuance of license plates by the Texas Department of
Transportation applies only to the issuance of license plates by
the department for a registration period beginning on or after the
effective date of this Act.
For a registration period that begins
before the effective date of this Act, the department shall issue
license plates as required by the law in effect immediately before
the effective date of this Act, and the former law is continued in
effect for that purpose.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007.

bold is registered after sept 1 =1 plate
underlined is registered before sept 1 = 2 plates

just registered mine and only got one plate
