well i thought i would let everyone know that i got a call yesterday moning that i have been dreading. most of you know my ex-wife and that she was just as much of an experianced rider as i was on our '02 R6. anyway i got a call yesterday morning that she had a bad accident late the night before. she is in pretty bad shape but i guess it could be worse. so for those that knew her this is what i know so far. she shattered her ankle which now has 5-6 pins and screws, shattered her knee which is scheduled for reconstructive surgery on saturday, compound fracture of her femor which now has a titanium rod and bolts, puntured lung, compound fracture of one of her arms which is scheduled to get plates on saturday as well, and a massive concusion. and her is what happened according to her roommate that was riding within ten feet of her and saw the whole thing. they were going about 40mph around a curve, the rear tire hit a grove in the road which popped the tire off the pavment. this threw her into an imbankment (sp) which in turn started the bike to flip. and instead of letting go of the bike she paniced and held on to it while it flips violently. it finally threw her of where she then slide for about 40-60 feet peeling off alot of skin that is going to have to be graphed (sp) back on. she slide till she hit the rock face of a cliff which made her helment explode into pieces. then the still sliding bike hit her. she is going to make it but it is going to be a LONG road to recovery. i have been lost in my own little world since i found out. i know we are no longer together but i still love her and always will! i think the main thing that is getting to me beside her getting hurt is that i've always been there for her no matter what, but with this i can't even be there to hold her hand. i've literally just been lost.

Trae - have to say sometimes i miss her but it's on to a bigger, lower, older, street rod!
God that is tough man. Best wishes to you and her. Try and stay postive man. Things seem in the ****ter but it only accentuates the finer things in life.
like i told you yesterday trae, hang in there and be strong. it sucks that this happenend. i know she was a good rider. even the pros get hurt. its a risk you take when you get a bike. she kew it as well and took it. at least she was smart enought to wear a helmet. i hate to know she freaked out and held onto the bike. thats a BIG NO NO in the book of riding. but then again even tho some of us know how to ride we could have done the same thing. if you get to talk to her tell her i said best of wishes and i pray that she gets better than what expected.
Think positive and good luck man. Spend more time with her and you i'm sorry to hear this. I have seen almost the same thing excpet this rider was more luckly ( i don't know if he is more or what, however seems like he is also in a very bad shape)
Driving in my lude down arapaho heading west passing shilo rd saw a cool looking bike ahead of me like 4ft away. The road kinda curve a little, the bike didn't pay attention or something was on his mind he hit the curve. Next thing i knew i saw lots of dust flying everywhere his bike flying, and fliping on the air while his body did the same but in different direction then the bike. The rider hit the curve as landed, I hit the brake like crazy afraid to ran his ass over, almost got a curve as well. AS the body of the rider landed and hit the curve it roll after ward face down and lay there. I got out of my car dialing 911 and started to run out to him. When i got there a few other people behind did the same with the phone in hand calling. When i get near his body his noise was bleeding out blood and its like his whole body act like a fish out of the water, wiggle and wiggle blood coming out of his month now as he trying desperatly to get a gasp of air and blood keeep on coming out. You can not recgonize what he is saying until a little time have pass as in h e l pppp me ssssssh
Kinda shock didn't know what to do and i know i was not suppose to touch hikm since i might facture him more, staying calm and tlaking on the phone reporting to the operator what I saw and where we are near , what intersection. Ambulance comes in a heart beat and ran to him and take him away. The rest I dunno know but it was scary sight. i wanted a bike myself after seeing that i'm kinda afraid about it, still loves bike thou
I have watched people eat **** on bikes before and it's not pretty. Experienced riders are like experienced drivers, they can be the worst as they are so confident in their abilities they forget to be overly cautious.
I wish her luck and I also hope that people take this to heart and understand why EMTs call sport bike riders "organ donors." Bikes are bad news.
Damn Trae, if you can relate a message to her, tell her all of NTPOG wishes her the best.
Man, I've always wanted a bike and I too have taken a spill, of course doing only about 30MPH. But the more I hear about these wrecks the more I'm convinced that it's not a smart move to get one. I think riding bikes on the street is very risky. The safest place would be on a closed course which has good riding surface and you're out there by yourself. There's still plenty of room for rider error, but at least you can eliminate some of the other factors.
Hey, you know we're down close to your neck of the woods. If you want to just chill or something to get your mind off this for a bit, give me a call. Justin too will be down in Mid. for a bit still.
