No.

For 30k you are VERY close to a STi, Evo, S2k, Z, etc... No civic is worth 30k. On top of actually having a better car, the resale value on it won't be near as high as any of the other cars i mentioned.

Although, the c1v1c c4n n3var l0s3!!

I can see getting a Si, Mini Cooper S, GTI, or Mazdaspeed S if you have to stay under $25k but once you go over that the cars listed by snotshake are obtainable and are definitely a step in performance, quality, and prestige.

^ But then you're counting on the "collector" car to appreciate. VERY few cars have appreciated over time and I would be willing to bet that the cars I listed above will hold their value just as well, if not better than, the Mugen Si.

No im not counting on it to appreciate, but it will not depreceiate like other cars. Type r's are not selling for the orgianl sticker price, but they hold there value way more than a GSR does.

^but then they can't be ragged out (i.e driven like a honda, 20k miles a year, etc)

if you want to collect this car, fine, but it can't be a DD. If you wanted to auto-x for favorable classing, fine.

but i don't think its worth it.

I'd never spend $30k for a new civic, but then again it's a good investment. Buy it now for $30k, then sell it on ebay and make your money back plus a little extra probably

well if it was an investment, you wouldn't be able to drive it back + forth from work. if you want to be in the investing of cars business, you should know it takes a much bigger purchase.

Hell no. Fawk no. Jesus Christ, no. NO CIVIC IS WORTH $30K unless it is a complete race car, fitted with a v8, or at least making about 3x the stock HP on some heavily modified engine and chassis.

For $30k go buy ANY NUMBER of cars that 1) look better 2) have more power 3) are going to have a higher resale 4) have more potential. Christ, for $30k go buy a very lightly used S2k with full warranty. MUCH MUCH MUCH better car and deal.

A Civic for $30k!!!! Not only NO but HELL no. If you are prepared to spend $30k on a car that only does 197 HP 139 LB. that is NA you can better spend your money on an EVO or STI that is boosted. Even if you don't want to go with a boosted application then go with the 350Z. There are better choices for the money.
