Auto-X: July 23 @ Mineral Wells

I think I can actually get off work for this! I'm planning on going. Although it is a bit of a drive, I need to get some more sessions under my belt before trying anything more difficult (such as MSR). Hopefully it won't rain like it did the last time I autocrossed and hopefully JP will go with me so I can royally OWN him!

Umm, Bump?

I guess if I'm gonna be the only one out there again, I might just stay home.

Well, although you all suck major balls and are too whimpy to race your car, I've decided to attend this event. Apparantly my step brother knows the guy who runs the whole thing so he will give me a list of names to ask for instructors (although sliding sideways is fun, I don't thing it is the best way to have a fast time.)

*Side note- this forum has been pretty dead lately. We need to talk about recruitment at the next meeting fo sho.*

We'll be at MSR in Nov, you should come there, much more fun. My car is difficult to autocross as the tires take some time to warm up, and the car easily overheats in this heat at an autocross.

BTW Billy, I plan on doing the November event. I want to get as many autox's under my belt as I can before I track my car. I don't want to rush anything and cause an unnecessary mistake.

You should consider one of those newfangled light and high-tech devices called a FAN. I would think it would be smart at the track as well so you don't have to watch the water temp.

FYI...

I ended up in 8th out of 15 in novice. My times improved throughout the day as well. I had a LOT of fun this time because the track was 1 mile long and the surface was great. I learned a lot about the handling characteristics of the car and I feel much more confident driving it now.

Overall, +++++++ on my second autocross event!

ummm, no fiats were there that I saw. There was a yellow GT3 that was trailered there though.

BTW, it doesn't rain in Mineral Wells. It is like a county wide umbrella.

I saw the yellow porshe and got mad since I couldn't even afford the trailer it was on
I saw some old looking car on a trailer that looked like a fiat or something like that, yup when the rain sees Mineral Wells it just dissapears and comes back together around Cool
