Ask anyone that was at the last NJ BBQ, they can vbouch for the paint... it's immaculate... of course he doesn't mention the fact that he covers it with a car cover, and comforters in his garage.

I've seen it in person and you'd think the whole car was repainted, not just the front. all the paint is perfect..

DITTO. This car was unbelievabely gorgeous.

Mark- I think your asking for the perfect amount. My car with almost 51k is a 2001 and according to www.kbb.com is worth around $15k.

Mark Can you answer me,

Vin #?

When you bough it?

Mileage bough with?

How many times a year do you attend the shows?

How many times a week do you drive the car?

Was the car Modded when you bough it?

Thank you.

I appologize for not posting over the weekend!

Sorry but I have a wife, a home and a second job that all take presidence over sitting on a computer.

As for posting the VIN#, I will not post that over the internet.

The car has technically had 4 owners. The car was purchased new in Yonkers I believe and then was sold to a guy in Brewster, New York. The guy in New York had it for a few years and used it to go back and forth to college in Ohio. That's where it racked up the most mileage.

I bought the car from the guy in New York in June of 1999 and it was titled here in Jersey in July of 1999. It was titled to my mother (I was on my parents insurance because we were saving for a house so my parents were kind enough to put the car in their name so we could save some money on insurance).

The car was titled under my name August of 2003.

A car fax will yield 4 title owners but 2 are myself and mother.

The car was delivered to me in New Jersey with 66,670 miles (give or take a few miles).

The car was bone stock. Overall the paint was in great condition but had a few door dings on the fenders and doors.

The first year I owned the car I used it as a daily driver. At the end of that year, my brothers Del Sol was stolen and I didn't want my car to fall victim to the same fate so I bought my 91 Civic and used that as a daily driver while the car sat in our driveway under a cover. Throughout that time I was researching parts and saving money. When I retired it as a daily driver back in late summer of 2000 the car had 76,6XX miles.

In July of 2001 I had decided that I was going to put the kit on and have it painted. The cars paint was in very good condition like I already mentioned but it had a lot of rock chips on the fenders, hood, and bumper from the previous owner traveling to Ohio for college once a week. I decided that I would have the front half painted to get rid of all those imperfections. All the mouldings and mirrors were removed for paint and the kit was painted off the car. The fenders, doors and hood were left on. Back half of the far is original paint.

The car was painted by Ultimate Auto Body in Bellville New Jersey. It is a shop owned by a young guy who owned about 20 soemthing corvettes (he's now down to about 10). His shop specializes in fiberglass and corvette restorations. The owner painted my car (Anthony).

I entered 1 major show - Import Eurasia in Somerset NJ on November 2001 and numerous local shows. The day after the import Eurasia show, the car went into the garage.

Here it is about 2 and half years later and the car now has 77,2XX miles (600 additional miles in about 3 years). The car never goes out in the winter, only around the block during those months about once a month. During the summer, I'll take it to my brothers house down the shore, or to my aunts house maybe once or twice during those months also - otherwise it is around the block or to the next exit on the highway to get the car up to speed and the oil circulated.

That's the story.

I'm sorry about not giving out the VIN # here but I will not do that over the internet. I've been on this Board since day one and many here can vouch for the car and its mileage. I've got nothing to hide with the car and those guys at the meet saw and sat in the car, they saw the mileage. Luke even drove the car (specialque), and saw the mileage first hand.

The car has never been in an accident or anything.

I'll scan in the title if you like to show you the mileage it was just titled with back in August (8 months ago).

My priorities just changed after I had the work done to the car. I got married last year so our time was occupied for two years planning a wedding while buying and fixing up a house. The car sat in the garage these past years waiting for me to pay it attention.

I'm 27 going on 28 in a few months. I'm not a punk kid who just beat the crap out of the car. I was raised around cars, and enjoy working on them with my father and brother. I also enjoy the looks that I get when driving a nice car, so that is my main motivation.

I've never been to a track, street races or an autoX event. I just like to "cruise" on a beautiful day.

Hope that helps.

All that's left is to tell you what size shoe I wear

Mark

As 94Accord already mentioned The car sits in my garage ON A CARPET, WITH A CAR COVER AND WITH 7 FULL SIZE COMFORTERS ON IT.

That's how anal I am about this car. I just don't want to see a door ding from my wife pulling in the garage and opening her door into it or scratching it bringing in the groceries.

Here is a pic of it on the carpet

If you like I'll take a picture of how it sits right now with the cover and 7 comforters.

I'll bet my wife will be happy to get the comforters back!

Mark, wtf, you broke our contract...

That really sucks man, I can't believe you!!! You better ask for more...

Very sad...I don't know if anyone will actually keep that car in as good condition as you are right now. It deserves the garage 24/7 and needs no more miles put on it...

This kinda deal is VERY hard to find folks!!! Take care of this beauty!

Thanks Charlie, I know I promised I would never sell it, but it just makes more sense to sell it know instead of taking out a loan for her graduate school.

It will put us in a better position later on where she will be making much more money as a principal of an elementary school.

Don't get me wrong, I think I should definitely be asking more since the car never moves and its condition but I just put it up for sale at a price that I think someone would pay.

Oh well, when the wife is making bank as a principal someday, I'll probably get a hold of another Prelude, it will probably have to be restored by then but it will be a fun project.

Here you go, as 94 Accord said, this is how it sits in my garage for most of the days of its life.

Snug as a bug in a rug

The Prelude is my woman

Seriously though, she never cares what she hits with her car. When she curbs a rim, scratches up the front bumper, or gets a new door ding she doesn't give it a second thought.

I have to protect the Prelude against this kind of outcome when she pulls in or takes out the trash.

Sometimes I wish I was like her though. I wish I can look at a car just as transportation and just be happy that it does its job, but look at what I have become in the picture above..... A NUT!

Yeah, you told me that you were going to be able to make it to the PNM without the Prelude.

I think I have a vacation planned to North Carolina with the wife and a few friends though at that time. I don't think I'll be able to make it.

I probably won't have the Prelude by then anyway so it would depress me anyway so I'm probably better off not going

Car is very nice, man. Maybe if I lived a little closer. However, she'll sell. All the imports where I live, ESPECIALLY a 4th gen VTEC, would be gone in a day.

It looks like the car is sold as of now.

Nothing is set in stone yet but a nice couple is planning on flying out from Wisconsin in two weeks to make the transaction and drive it back home. They offered to FedEx a deposit but that is not necessary in my eyes since they are seeking airline tickets to come out here. To me that signifies they are serious and I have no reservations holding the car for them.

The car sold for my asking price.

I only have two weeks left with her

Thanks to those of you who supported me selling the car and telling your friends about it.

Mark
