The time has come - selling low mileage 4th gen

The time has finally come that I want to sell the car. I took out the car for the first time in about 2 months over the weekend. It was a beautiful day and I took it down the shore. Everything was perfect but I realized that I just don't have the opportunity to enjoy this car as it was meant to be. I want to give someone else the chance to appreciate the car and enjoy it for what it is worth.

My wife is going to be going to grad school and it would be nice to not have to take out a loan for the schooling - another reason for selling.

I don't want to hagel over price or anything. Some of you have seen my car in person and can vouch for its condition and visual appeal. I think I have priced the car reasonably based on its condition and low mileage. Title is in my hand and ready to transfer.

$10,000 firm

I know most of you all have Preludes but I would appreciate any of you telling your friends who may be interested in this kind of car

Here's the deal:

1994 original VTEC (not a swapped engine) with 77,380 miles. Car is not daily driven and is garage kept. Never been raced on the track or the streets. Most of you guys know me, I drive like a grandma and do not like to abuse my cars. Tranny shifts with no problems and still on the original clutch (testimate to how the car was driven). Rarely hit VTEC and always shift at or below 3000 RPM. The car is only taken out about once a month to get exercise around the block, otherwise it is in the garage.
- Timing belt, all drive belts and water pump were changed a little over 3 years ago with 72,000 miles on the car.
- Valves adjusted shortly after that
- Oil changed every 3,000 miles for the first year I used it as a daily driver. After I stopped driving it the oil was changed every 6 months because the car sees about 200 miles a year.
- Three year old Die Hard battery
- Balancer shaft retainer recall performed
- STR cam seal replaced leaky distributor side seal
- Tranny fluid changed about 2 years ago with Honda MTF

The car needs nothing and is an absolute pleasure to drive - That's why I'll miss it. Nothing wrong with the car at all and everything works (cup holder, antenna, etc).

MODS - Exterior
- JDM black housing headlights
- Wings West Big Mouth Bumper
- Kaminari side skirts and rear Valance
- 18 X 7.5 Giovanna Nagano wheels with Falken 215/35/ZR-18's.
- Clear rear bumper lights
- Polarg Super white bulbs in the JDM's
- Had all door dents taken out, Body kit repainted and installed, hood painted, front fenders repainted, doors repainted, and mirrors repainted last July. Dupont paint was used with a lifetime warranty on the paint. Spent $3000 on the paint and body work.

SUSPENSION AND BRAKES
- TEIN NR coilover system lowered about 1.75" all around
- DC Sports polished aluminum strut bar, rear upper strut bar, and lower rear tie bar
- Ingalls front camber kit
- Brembo cross drilled and slotted front rotors and matching Bradi rears (Just installed last month). Honda brake pads
- gloss red calipers

ENGINE
- Nothing Internal (I'm a shower not a goer)
- GReddy stainless header and PE cat back exhaust
- MMR polished short ram intake
- red Nology hotwires
- Spoon radiator cap
- chromed valve cover
- chromed radiator supports
- chromed AC hose supprt
- red RS Akimoto silicone hoses.
- Braided hose covers in various locations
- various engine parts painted red

INTERIOR
- Stock black leather interior in great condition - NO RIPS
- electro gauges
- arm rest with flip up compartment
- cup holder
- DC Sports short shift adapter
- MOMO race leather shift knob
- MOMO emergency brake handle (new and in box - never installed)
- red 9" neons under the dash controlled by a red lighted switch located in the blank area above the cup holder
- Aluminum drilled pedals

SYSTEM
- Sony Explode flip face
- Sony Xplode 6.5's in the rear deck
- 2 Sony Xplode 8" subs built in a custom enclosure located in the spare tire well in the trunk.
- Rocford Fosgate Punch 100 Amplifier
- Stock amp and 6 X9" are fully functional as well.
- Kenwood tweeters located on drivers and passenger doors
- 2 red 9" neons located in trunk to accent the system - automatically turn on when trunk is opened.

SECURITY
- 2 security devices

That's all I can think of right now. Buyer will also get a Helms manual, stock headlights, stock 93 VTEC rims with Bridgestone Potenza's (90%) tread left on the tires, stock intake, spare tire and jack, all stock bulbs and lenses, stock front bumper, stock shift knob, stock plug wires (brand new), original owners manual, all service records and receipts I have since I aquired the car and a few from the previous owner.

THE CAR WILL NOT BE PARTED OUT, I REPEAT, WILL NOT BE PARTED OUT.

Anyone interested is more than welcomed to stop by and check out the car, take it for a drive and to your mechanic to have it checked out. I'm in Burlington County in South Jersey.

Again, please pass this on to anyone that may be looking for a nice Prelude. If you require any additional pictures I will be more than happy to snap them for you.

You can reach me via Private Message here or through email at mark.pelehach@mortgagefamily.com

If you are in the area, you are more than welcomed to stop by and take it for a drive and to a mechanic.

I am located in south Jersey in Burlinton TWP.

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Mark

Cool, thanks Luke.

Let me know if you need any other photos of the car. I have none of the trunk with custom enclosure but can if you need them.

It looks like I'll be taking the Speed to the PNM if I'm not on vacation at that time

I'd just be showing, you know me, I'm not a goer.

I'd have just as much fun watching you all then if I was driving.

Wow, I just checked autotrader and I'm not sure if I'm asking too little or others are asking too much. I see 96 VTEC's with mileage in the 100K asking for $12 - 15K.

I'm not sure if they are offering all the stock parts, receipts and manuals as well.

Anyway...

I forgot to add that I have also added the custom splitters on the front of the car. These pictures were taken this weekend

add .orig.jpg for the large pictures.

Hell no he's not asking too much--that car is f@cking immaculate, inside & out. The excessive care he's taken of that car is worth the extra dough. Most ludes you see on e-bay or autotrader are JACKED up, have too much mileage, and are in the questionable category--we all know how much care Mark has taken of his car (those who've been around for a while, at least).

Man how sad to see your car go. I remember seeing it in the ride of the week at honda prelude.com. Sell it to someone who will take care of her.

Thanks guys for the support, I appreciate your kind words both about myself and the car.

It will be hard to let it go.

In this pic you can see the rear tower bar. There is also a 9" red neon tube on the underside of this tower bar and there is another red neon tube right at the rear of the trunk. These tubes automatically turn on when you open the trunk is opened. This is the picture I gave to Modacar for their site.

Here is another picture I found of the enclosure. It is fully built into the wheel well (no spare tire - but it can easily be removed). I built the box out of 3/4 inch wood and topped it off with sheet metal so it would provide a reflective surface for the neon lights to bounce off of.

Here are two more pics that I took of the car when I entered it into an Import Eurasia show here in Jersey. These pics justify the paint quality.

Again, just add .orig.jpg for the full size pictures.

$15k for a 96? isnt that a bit high? Im selling my 2001 with 18k miles for like 16k. I guess ppl dont realize that you never get your money back in mods. Just my opinion tho. Good luck with the sale.

^ 16k for that low mileage. my god you could get 16k on a trade in from a dealer and they would sticker it at 22k.

that car looks incredible. good luck with the sell.

I'm not selling my car for 15K or 16K!

I'm selling mine for 10K with all stock parts, manuals and receipts for everything!!!!!!

Car has sat in a garage for 3 years now and saw about 500 miles over those three years. The car stays in the same condition (no additional rock chips, scratches, mileage etc) but yet it still continues to loose value on the market.

That's one of the main reasons why I'm selling it also.

I think 10K is very resonable for the car with it's mileage and paint quality (has about 5 rock chips in the front total (from me taking it to shows), no dings or anything.

Again - $10,000 NOT 15k or 16K

Thanks!

Mark

Why in hell did u repaint the doors and fenders etc. I mean 95% of the cars I see that were repainted I don’t like the work. I am obsessed with paint.

Were all the moldings removed at least prior to the paint job?

Vin # would be helpful as well. I am not a frequent member here so its hard for me to believe that it has 70K and it wasn’t driven much.

Thank you.
