Honda : Prélude: eBay Motors (item 170520768839 end time Aug-05-10 20:22:47 PDT)
I am reluctantly selling my 2000 Honda Prelude. Back in 2007 the motor was burning oil somewhat badly and not running all that great, so I took it to the infamous King Motorsports in Wisconsin to have the motor rebuilt. They did a full $3,000 rebuild (the invoice was two pages long) and installed some other things as well. Among them are: JDM Type S pistons, Crower cams, AEM cam gears, bored-out throttle body to 64 mm, converted from OBD2 to OBD1 using a P72 chip and Hondata S100 ECU, Exedy clutch, valve job, JDM Type S intake, JDM Type S red valve cover. The block and head were fully blueprinted, balanced, polished, and milled. When they were done, it was dyno tuned and tested, and put down 182 horsepower and 150 lb. ft. of torque @ 6,800 RPM. Obviously, this is not a 12 second car, so if that's what you're after then this may not be the right car for you. They showed me the dyno charts from a stock H22 and it put down about 170 and 137 respectively, so it was a bit of an increase. All said and done, the total bill came to just over $,000. But I wasn't after a stupid-fast car anyway, had that been the case I would have had them slap on a turbo or super charger; I don't drag race or do SCCA or anything so I just wanted a car that would be fun to drive and reliable for a long time to come.
This car has some minor scuffs and scratches, as you would expect with a ten year old car, but it is still one of the cleanest, best looking Preludes out there. The engine bay is super clean and has a Mugen oil and radiator cap. Inside there is a JDM center console, rear deck lid, rear ash tray (but it has never been smoked in), JDM guage cluster bezel, Rockford Fosgate head unit, Rockford Fosgate speakers hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate amp and capacitor. Outside the car has the OEM Honda front and rear lip as well as side skirts, JDM power-folding mirrors, and Pirelli P Zero Nero tires with about 75% tread left on them. The stock wheels were also professionally painted black. It also has a Viper alarm, from which I have included a picture of the remote.
In the three years since the motor was rebuilt I have only put 25,000 miles on it. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 and I have only ever put Shell Premium 93 gas in it; the car has rarely been driven in rain, and never been driven in snow since I have another car, I have kept it so clean at all times you could eat off of it. Kelly Blue Book says the car is worth $11,775 with 25,000 miles on it or $7,675 with 130,000, which is what the chassis has. I don't expect to get $12,000 out of it, but I most certainly feel this gem is worth more than the minimum KBB value.
If I have forgotten something here, or you have any questions please send me a message, thank you.
