Make : Honda
Model : Prelude
Milage car : ~145,000

Title : clean clear in hand

First off, to give credit where it is due.

Don @ RPM systems. Thanks for the harness, and hours you spent on the phone with me sharing your knowledge.

Rodney @ J and R next level performance. Wouldnt have touched 12's on the stock clutch. Thanks for the twin disc, when no one else offered a quality product.

Description: full build thread can be found here.

Videos :

orginal start up
dyno 274 whp
12.8 run
twin disk clutch rev

I can take more vids upon request.

Parts list and approximate costs:

j35a8 engine - $950 (bought off ebay, engine has 2,800 ish miles on it. the car was in an accident, and caught fire somewhere. Most of the sensors had some kind of heat damage, and I was going to replace all the belts, gaskets, and seals.)

J35a8 6mt transmission - $1800 - (bought off ebay, 15,000k miles, clutch, flywheel, axels, coil packs, engine harness, shifter box, injectors, lots of sensors, I got most of the stuff i needed for the a8 motor from the same seller for a decent price.)

explicit speed traction bar ~ $480
hasport motor mounts ~ $450 ( i would suggest using a different back mount, the one hasport provided from there K kit works, but there is much better options)

Random sensors, and covers for the a8 motor $75 (got all the sensors, and covers i was missing off the a8 motor from a local friend)
wings west rs lip kit - $200
tein basic coilovers $225
c and R racing radiator - $400
Tilton Twin disc- ~$2000
walbro 255 - $100
aeromotive (paxton) fpr - $180
fuel lines and fittings - $200
Wiring kit, ignition, ecu ~ $1000
New belts, seals, waterpump, gaskets, fluids ~ $400
precat deletes ~ $300
3 in mandrel exhast ~ $150
big magnaflow muffler ~ $100

Wheels:
stock prelude blades - $0
stock TL type S wheels, with nitto Nt05 tires - $1050
Weld prostar fronts w/ m and h slicks - $ 600
weld replica prostar skinnys for rear - $300

Interior:
Pioneer head unit ~ $150
good component speakers front ~ $150
good rear speakers ~ $75
sparco steering wheel - $300
momo hub - $65
tinted windows

^will have to look for brand on speakers, don't remember.

Car Details.

J35A8 swapped out of a 2007 Acura TL type S. Runs and drives great, very reliable. I have driving it almost 10 hours in one day. I have only put ~ 5k miles on it since i have had it. Never have been stranded, and never broke anything at the track. I have probably ~ 30 1/4 mile passes on the car.

Best 1/4 mile time was at vegas IFO 2011 the car went 12.6 @ 108 mph.
Fastest MPH was near 110mph at Ennis IFO 2010.

The car does not have AC or power steering, but does have a heater.
I removed the glass sunroof and put in a fixed Metal panel from a 4th gen prelude.

The hood is trashed, it was bad when i got it, but i forgot the pins one day driving the the gas station, and it popped open and cracked the windshield. I never really cared about the appearance of the car. I will replace the windshield if the buyer wishes.

Few door dings, and paint is not in the best shape. The brakes up front are legend dual piston calipers. It no longer has the type S brembos, as the 15" wheels would not fit over the old calipers.

As far As i know the car is currently the Fastest NA street prelude in the world. When i say street, It is tagged, insured, has full interior, uncut, with mufflers. It is possible for it to pass emissions.

I made 6 IFO events in 2011.
Baytown Rain out.
Wichita Win with 12.8
Noble Win with 13.1
Kansas City Rain out
Vegas win with 12.6
Tulsa place 2nd with 13.0

The reason Im selling it is to start a new project.

Different price options for the car. All prices are obo. I will also deliver half way.

$9500 j35a8 with twin disc, everything extra, and both sets of wheels.

$8500 j35a8 with twin disc, everything extra, 1 set of wheels.

$7500 j35a8 stock clutch, everything extra, 1 set of wheels.

$7000 j32a3 stock clutch, everything extra, 1 set of wheels.

I will also part out the j35a8 motor, trans, and clutch for $5000

So are you in? I will do a J swap to it, and guarantee a magazine feature out of it.

That would be sick and definitely make magazine status. RHD with a j swap straight one of a kind. On the realz, I want a TL or even a Tundra.

the tundra is one of the funnest trucks you would ever use. I have had three in a row now and the last two were single cab short box. The current one is a trd shortbox i use to tow the car around, as well as for offroading ontop of using it as a work horwse in the oil patch. Even at the minus 51 we had last night my truck started up and ran greatm without even being plugged in.

As for speed, my tundra eats s2ks, 370 z all day long, dodge hemis, and keeps pace right along side the ford raptor, and the only real challenge i have come across was trying to race my buddies brand new camaro ss. So far thats the only one i have had trouble beating. The srt8 challenger, was a joke, the tundra rocked it eight ways from sunday.

slap a trd supercharger kit and your set, but if you buy tundra get teh 4x4, and i would recomend a 3" lift just to ease the damage on the skid plates if you are going sever offroad, or jsut spend the 500 bucs on the TRD aftermarket on wiht the hatch for the oil filter.

this is the white one i jsut got rid of last spring. It had the 3" lift and level and the skids done; non trd version.

Teh one i have now is a black trd offraod package, single cab short box with toyo open country A/T.I bought it last march, it rolled off assembly on may 3 and i picvked it up on may 8. Currently it has about 38,000 km on it and will be sold in another 15,000 kms or so.

As for the v6 lude, i would lvoe to have one that had a supercharger put on top of it. Hell you take a 3.5l v6 and blow on it a bit anmd damn, you should be in ten secs in no time, especially if you could rebuild the bottom end for it. Would be a helluva ride.

Not to clutter his FS thread, but nice Tundra. I love my 2010 5.7 DC. For what it is, extremely fast.
