I am trying to see what I can do here with what I've got, it's not fully for sale but I want to see what can be done
General Specs:
Year: 2000
Miles: 158k
Tranny: Auto
Mods: Slotted EBC front rotors, front calipers painted red, BOMZ Ram Air(red), Smoked turn signals. I still have the original turn signals and air intake
Repairs Done:
Mechanically: Crank shaft pulley replaced and balanced by Honda about 4 months ago, still have all the receipts.
Cosmetically: Car was hit on passengers side last fall while I was sitting still, the other car was going no more then 15 mph, person who hit it hit the front fender and scraped down the side to the end of the passengers side door, was all professionally fixed and paid for by the other persons insurance company, so, the passengers side has a fresh paint job, door panel and front fender. I have all documents for the repairs as well.
Recent General Maintenance:
New brake pads all around and front rotors last summer
New plugs at beginning of summer this year
New battery last winter
I've listed the good, the bad, & the ugly of the situation below
The Good:
Engine runs top notch and there is near no rust on this car
Interior is near perfect, only reasons it's not perfect is due to normal wear and tear, I don't smoke and I NEVER let anyone else smoke in the car
The Bad:
Trannys slipping, 2nd gear won't hold, you can "skip" over it though with the auto-stick, which means, the whole trannys not shot and can be fixed, but I don't wanna mess with it anymore. Quote from AAMCO was 1600 but I just don't have anymore time or patience to put into it, plus I don't want it to break again and cost another 1600. They do have a lifetime warranty plan, that cost 3600
Prior Salvage: I didn't look on the title till after wards but it turns out it's salvage, I got hosed, no way around that, guy also "couldn't find" the title till the day we were going to sign, I should have looked, I didn't, lesson learned. I did some research after the fact and found out that it had been stolen in Chicago and crashed, guy I bought it from got it at an auction, fixed it just enough, then hosed me and my then vulnerable nature for wanting a Prelude quick. So over time the front bumper and rear bumper have "drifted" away from the body leaving about a 1/2" to 1" gap in-between, I am told this is because the frame is bent, also told it's fixable. Drivers side rear quarter panel was bondoed, bondo is cracking, looks bad, not unfixable though.
All the body work and a paint job can be done and fixed, even by me, but again, I have run short on time and patience with this car.
Drivers side headlight needs replaced (in the process of finding one though)
Has US OEM fogs but the passengers side one is missing, if you don't care, a blank can be put in, if you do care, I can find one for you, or if you want it'll be plug and play for an aftermarket set.
& The Ugly:

^-----------Not the car up for sale
& The SUPER ugly
And The Not So Ugly:

^---- The Car For Sale
This picture is from 2008 but not much has changed on it. The rear quarter has more of a crack in it now but it's not falling apart
You can see the bumper situation, now though, it is held in place and doesn't look as bad. I got the bumper lined up and pinned back in, but, the frames bent, so there's still some gap.
What I'm trying to do in the grand scheme of all this is to get another 2000/2001 Prelude, Base or SH, manual. I love this car, my girlfriend loves this car, we don't want to let it go, but the tranny replacement isn't worth it for another auto and I can't find ANYONE around here to do a swap, if I could I would be as happy as a kitten chasing a leaky cow on a cool summers day, but I can't find anyone.
I'm looking to get $3000.00 out of the car since there are many usable parts and in the right hands it can be fixed up to look and drive great again, or, I'd like to trade it to someone for a black 2000/2001 Bash or SH manual and pay a cost difference if necessary.
Please let me know your positive and constructive thoughts and offers. I'll get more pics up soon, this was just kind of a whim approach as I sit here at work late at night.
Thanks for looking.
