98 Type SH in NJ - 179k miles - $1800 - needs motor work
Figured it was time to post it up here for sale. Asking $1,800 firm.
• Has 179k miles (mostly highway, had a long commute to work, and have done a lot of cross country driving, most recently moved back from Los Angeles to NJ)
• Was in excellent mechanical condition until engine knocking
• Oil leaked out (I think from the oil filter gasket), engine now knocks
• Starts/runs (when filled back up with oil), but can’t currently be driven, battery would also need to be jumped, since it’s been sitting for 6 months
The Good
• 2nd owner, have all service records since brand new (mine and previous owner’s); I've owned the car since March 2005 when I purchased it from the original owner.
• Have original window sticker, spare keys, even ‘red’ key
• Interior is in very good condition 9/10, even had floormats on the floor mats (and on the passenger side a paper floor mat over that)
• Clean title, no major accidents
• NJ State Inspection good til March 2012
• Good tread on tires (even though fronts are AS, rear are summers)
• Lots of extra parts (including 3 wheels, one with same summer tire as the rears with lots of tread)
• Has a 99-01 grille, clear side markers, K&N drop-in filter in excellent condition, other random stuff
The Bad
• Body is in fair condition, has a few big dents and a lot of dings/scratches/scuffs
• CEL on - needs an EGR valve service
• Keyless entry remote looks a little ghetto-fab cause I used blue duct tape to secure the key ring to it (but I am very proud of how good of a job I did securing the two together)
Some parts on the car in the pictures will be extra:
• A new Clarion CD/MP3 head unit with iPod/USB & aux inputs and remote (I still don’t get the point of the remote, perhaps if you want to have an impromptu breakdance competition in the parking lot?)
