Mechanically the car is 9 out of 10. I have had no problems with the car. I just do a bunch of maintance to keep problems from starting. The only reason it is not 10 out of 10 is because the car does burn some oil like all higher mileage h22's. It ranges from 2-3 quarts per oil change depending on your driving style. There are no leaks of any fluid on the car. The test pipe gaskets have worn out, so there is a little exhaust leak. I will *try* to source some gaskets to fix this, but my other attempts have not worked to find any.
Interior is 9 out of 10. Never been smoked in, kept as clean as I can living at an apartment complex away from home. No tears or marks on the seats. after-market Panasonic CD Deck. Rear defroster has never worked for me since I bought the car 2 1/2 years ago. I did some trouble shooting, but couldn't figure out the problem. Never had any problems with out it working though.
Exterior is a 7 out of 10. With 161,xxx miles on it, there are some chips and dings. The windshield was replaced by the previous owner shortly before I got the car, so it is in perfect shape. There is a slight dent on the hood towards the center front, and also one behind the driver's door towards the rocker panel. There is also a 2" scratch on the passenger side door that has been covered up with touch up paint. The trunk needs to be opened from the lever in the cabin as the key hole has never worked since I got the car. The previous owner had left the rubber fender protectors on the rear of the car, so there was some surface rust on the car when I got it. I grinded down the rust to bare metal, sprayed with zinc paint, and covered it up with the touch up paint. There are only two small places where the rust went outside of the fender well, which have been touched up. You can only notice it when you get up close to the car. It has been through 2 winters, and there has been no sign of the rust coming back. The car was hit with a hail storm, and there are a few dings on the hood, trunk, and roof. They are very hard to see when the car is in day light, but at night or under florescent lights, the dings are more apparent. I used some dry ice to take out some of the larger dings, but you can still see them. If I could count the dings, I would, but they are hard to see. You can't tell at all in the day light.
I have driven this car on multiple road trips and have gotten 30+ mpg. Car has never left me stranded or had any problems. Taken the car to Kansas City and back (1200 miles round trip) 4 times, and to Cincinnati (200 miles round trip) about 2 times a month.
Currently the car has a WW RS kit on it, and will include it with the car for an extra 400 dollars on top of the price.
Looking to sell the car with in the next 10-14 days. Price is very neg. Car is located in Lexington, Kentucky but I head home to Cincinnati, Ohio every other week.
Pictures:
I included pictures of both rear fenders to show that the rust had not reached the outside except in two small spots that have been fixed up. I tried to strip off the paint from the wheels, but it did not go very well, so they will be resprayed black again.
Please shoot me a PM or post here if you have any questions.
Thanks.
