1997 Prelude SH. 5spd with H23A Bluetop. Florida car located in ILLINOIS

Asking $5700 OBO. Feel free to offer me what you'd be willing to pay. Don't rush...contact me when you have the cash because I won't hold the car without either a payment or a non refundable deposit. NO TRADES, please. Just CASH.

****If the car is bought for close to the asking price, I will include the two Rockford Fosgate amps that are currently in the trunk of the car.

Please read the ad below for all the details on the vehicle.

Car is located in Plainfield, IL. It's a chicago suburb. To find out my proximity from your location, visit Google Maps.

***********If you can read this, it is still for sale.
****************NO TRADES NO TRADES NO TRADES AND NO TRADES, PLEASE.

This is a 1997 Prelude SH. It has a 5SPD manual transmission. SH is Honda's acronym for "Super Handling". It comes with upgraded/stiffer/lower springs and shocks. It also has a nicer front subframe design than the base model.

I bought the car with a bad engine and swapped in a new (used, low mileage JDM) motor. It has all the nessecary USDM sensors and emissions equipment. So it is 100% emissions compliant. There are no check engine lights or warning lights on in the dash.

It has a JDM H23A VTEC Bluetop engine swap. This is NOT a Frankenstein engine swap. It is a factory Honda built 2.3L DOHC VTEC engine. Engine was bought at ONE6 motorsports. It's so clean it's silly. Compression test numbers were 218, 220, 217, 220. NICE!

The car is a Florida/Atlanta car. . .so NO RUST. I think that this will be the car's either 1st or 2nd winter!

IT COMES WITH 2 SETS OF WHEELS! It is currently on sticky Yokohama ADVAN summer tires and stock SH wheels. I will also be INCLUDING a set of base model wheels with snow tires. I bought the snow wheels/tires used a few months ago.

Chassis has 149k miles on it. Engine and 5spd manual trans are very low mileage. Trans is from a 4th gen VTEC prelude. So it has shorter 2-4 gearing and a longer 5th gear. So better acceleration and better highway MPG!

EVERYTHING works! A/C blows cold. Heat blows hot. Power steering works, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power sun roof, ABS, cruise control, etc. All works exactly like it should.

My reason for selling is that I need money more than I need the car. I have no idea what I was thinking buying another car lol.

Here are some details on the car:

I just did the engine swap like in early September. So all these parts have literally about 500 miles on them:

-NEW OEM timing belt and water pump. (Bought from a Honda dealer).
-New OEM auto belt tensioner (Bought from Honda dealer).
-New USDM OEM oil pump (Bought from Honda dealer).
-NEW OEM cam/crank oil seals (Bought from Honda dealer).
-New OEM rear mail oil seal (Bought from Honda dealer).
-NEW Exedy OEM spec clutch kit with throwout bearing.
-Resurfaced OEM H22 flywheel.
-New fluids (oil, coolant, manual trans fluid).
-New Golden Eagle thermal intake manifold gasket.
-New NGK V-Power spark plugs.

It runs/drives PERFECT. Still handles and brakes really well. Drives like a brand new car. Engine makes plenty of power. The H23 Bluetop VTEC engine is rated at 163lbs of torque and 210-220hp. So yes...it's faster than a H22 prelude. The engine DOES NOT leak or burn any fluids. The trans shifts like butter....no grinds at all.

It is a florida/atlanta car...which means it saw a lot of sun. So it has a little paint fade. I believe that this can be buffed out. I don't know how to buff cars and I don't want to risk damaging the paint, so I won't try lol. I can, however, refer you to a really good detail guy that works CHEAP. There is also a dent on the hood near the right headlight (see pics).

Interior is very clean. Comes with Sony XPLOD head unit. Fancy. The car is also wired up for sound. And comes with 2 rockford fosgate amps as long as it's bought for the right price.

Has the stock SH shift knob and boot with no rips...which seems hard to find...idk if it is? It also has a honeycomb front grille. I can include the slated grill if you want it.

It's difficult to see a clean prelude now a days. This thing is SUPER fresh since it hasn't seen much/any salt and snow yet. Even the chassis bolts are all shiny still.

That pretty much covers it. Please feel free to email me any questions. And again.....if you can see this, the car is still for sale.

Here are some detailed pictures.

Well...I have this and my EM1 up for sale. Whichever one sells first. The GF wants a TSX and I found a PERFECT one with 6spd, tech package, super clean. So I need to get a down payment together.
