How about an option to pay more for either more PM message space, or unlimited message storage?

I tend to use mine for tech discussions, so having to delete stuff always makes me sad.

It has been considered, but is too hard to govern. A mod can't simply go in and delete that information, like we can posts. That is why we say for important info, use email.
