Personal Classified Section Suggetion

Location Designation:

Time and time again, I see sellers not listing their location, whether it be in their user profile or in the actual FS/WTB post. This is a very useful piece of information especially for the customer so they can judge how expensive shipping could be.

The location designation should be made strict as I and probably other members would like to know where items are located, especially big items such as bumpers, hoods, exhausts, etc. These items are bulky and heavy, and thus shipping them from West Coast to East Coast would be very expensive and the seller would most likely veer away from that.

And, how would you like this managed?

I am actually thinking of creating a 'form' for posting items, still looking into the code to see if I can integrate it with PO.

That's a splendid idea. Perhaps just limit the 'form' to the title, and include a field for FS/FT or WTB; one for item description and one for location and another for gen...

So when people click create new thread, there are 3 boxes for the title:

1) drop box for FS, FT or WTB
2) a field to enter state or location
3) drop box for Prelude gen [3rd, 4th, 5th, multiple]
4) field for item description

Result would be something like:

FS in SoCal: 5th gen JDM Fogs w/harness, no USDM switch

or

WTB in NJ: 5th gen Milano Red rear bumper with 'P-R-E-L-U-D-E' lettering
...
FT in NoVa: multiple gen 205/45 R17 Falken Ziex 512 tires with 50% tread
...
FS in Bay Area: 4th gen H23A block with Head, needs rebuild

That way, the titles are uniform and the actual text/content of the post is up to the creator of the thread. So only the titles would be part of the 'form'.

But anyway, good luck either way!

Heh...Dan I haven't thought that far ahead yet.

...But to add on to what Kap said,

Basically incorporate a Location field under the current Title field. If the code allows, make it similar to the Title field where when the original thread creater clicks submit, it says Please enter in a title/location.

Whether it diplays it in the Title or thread does not matter as long as it shows up in eihter.

You can also do the same with the Prelude Generation and just remove this field when you toss the code over to the General Classified section.
