We have wrote a custom script that will give the members a little more credit that have been around on the site a long time.

Under the avatar it will display how many years you have been a member of the site with a custom image..

An example would be:

Being a long time member doesn't really mean you know more then someone who just joined. If your factoring in post count, it still doesn't justify. Hell, I see old timers still posting crap sometimes. If the whole point of this feature is just to show you how long you've been a "dedicated" member, then I agree with Peter. The date just works fine.

Anywho, there are other problems that need to be addressed before coming up with new ones.
