Only Northeast is really "active" and its sort of silly to have a regional AND an events section when the regional is just being used for events.
I mean, do we REALLY have enough local events that the events section would move that quickly? There's been ~5 posts in the last 30 days in hte midatlantic section.
I brought this up a while ago. Why have two places for events. Then we ahve to double post everytime we have a meet.
But my suggestion is to kill Meetings and Events so everyone must go to the regional forums.
Maybe with VBulletin 3 and the floating forums feature you can make it so it shows a shortcut to the regional forum of your choice instead of having to drill down through the list link.

See, I'd say ditch the regionals because I don't want to have to browse a bunch of topics. I live in northern maryland, so I could go to Northeast or Midatlantic stuff. So at this point I'm checking 3 forums.
Why segregate it? there just aren't THAT many events. its over-organization.
