The zex kit is an extremely simple kit, which anybody can install. However, it is a dry kit so you won't want ot jet it higher than a 75 shot. Also, there are no replacement parts for the Zex kit. If something in the barney box breaks, you are SOL unless you find a used one for cheap.
With NX and NOS kits you can replace every single part in the kit all the way down to teh little spring inside of the noids.
Personally, I put NX and NOS on an equal plane and then the Zex kit will follow somewhere after them. I would never buy a Zex kit because it confines you too the dry kit set up.

The Zex kit is a good kit. It is extremely easy to setup and instal. I guess the only bad things about the Zex kit are what laughin2.2 said. If something in the purple nmu goes bad, you'll have to replace the whole unit rather than a solenoid or spring or whatever may have crapped out. It seems to me that one can do more things with the NOS and NX kits than the Zex kit. There are more accesories for those kits than there are for the Zex kits. If you don't plan on running more than a 75 shot, then I think the Zex kit is a good kit.

I'd just get a wet kit. If you really want a dry kit I would get the NOS brand kit.

depends on how in depth you want to get i think. I haven't installed a NOS or NX kit but they look harder and more time consuming. I have a ZEX kit it was easy as pie to install. Its a simple basic dry nitrous delivery system. I am pleased with it so far.

I don't ever plan on upgrading, I have had mine for almost a year and am very pleased with it.

So, if you are the type of person who feels that upgrading is not in the near future a Zex kit is the way to go.

Plus, if you ever want to upgrade sell the kit to some kid for cheap, or just buy the parts needed to upgrade to wet, noids, some fittings and nozzle.

Since you already have a bottle, lines, arming switch, purge?, that kind of stuff.

The NOS dry kit and purge kit took 6 hours for a buddy and myself to install. This includes a custom bottle install and an arming switch/purge switch panel(The panel took an hour b/c the car's owner wanted to do it). Not to mention ripping apart the all black wiring that the previous installer used(it was a used kit). The worst part was that this was on a show car so everything had to be pretty. For my install I replaced the radio and the rest of the center console insert with steel and mounted the switches there.

That's not exactly what I would call an in-depth kit to install, although the Zex kit is by no means as time consuming to install.

I would suggest getting a wet kit from either NX or NOS. If you really want a dry kit get a nos one. The upgradeability is far greater with NX or NOS since you can replace individual parts as mentioned above.

I love my Zex kit and it does its job GREAT. It is extremely simple to install and does the job just as well as the Nos and NX kits... I just hope that box stays strong.
