Zex Air Amplifier

Installing new Zex dry kit this weekend. Also ordered the new Ejector Air Amplifier by Zex. This is an injector that fits in the end of a cone type air filter (supplied) and is supposed to distribute the nitrous better. Does anyone have this installed, or have heard of anyones experience with it?

I have seen pictures of it, looks like a cool idea. However the same distribution can be achieved by placing a nozzle down your intake further. The only drawback is that the shot isn't as powerful when it is placed further down the intake. Most people here have their nozzles 6"-12" away from the throttlebody.

Nicely stated man. Also, by having the nitrous nozzle further away from the throttle body, the nitrous will get distributed into the cylinders more evenly.

I like the idea of it, but like axion said your shot wont be as powerful since it is so far away from the tb.

I hope nobody every tries to use that with a wet kit. The intake would have a ton of fuel puddling in it. For a dry kit though I would lose a couple hp for not having to tap my intake.

Id take the better distribution vs the harder hit of the shot.....you NEED good distribution.....power will be the same.....

That's the reason I like the idea...better distribution...safer with the same amount of power. The nitrous should all get there, but might take a fraction of a second longer than a normal setup.

I haven't had time to finish up the install yet. I'm using a short custom air intake that has the cone filter right behind the battery. The supplied hose fit just right, I don't know if it would reach the extra length for a cai. I'll let you know how it works when finished.

Finally finished the install, very happy with the first test runs. There seems to be little or no lag due to the 2 ft distance from the throttle body. I only have the 55 nozzle in, and the power increase is very noticeable. Second gear at vtec, and I was losing traction with new toyo proxes tires.

There was just enough hose. I mounted the box on the firewall next to the fender on the driver side. With the zex filter right next to the battery, it made it quite a length having to go around the engine. I think you could make it work with a cai, if you mount the box on the passenger side, maybe near the fender well. With the nozzle in the end of the zex filter, it makes it very easy to swap sizes.

Just finished installing a Dyno-Tune bottle warmer....Wow!!...big difference in power due to increased bottle pressure. Before install..600 psi..after install..950 psi. Never thought it could make that much difference. Not sure of ideal pressure. Anyone know?

I am looking at buying the air amp thing too, but i am wondering what kind of HP gains you would get with a 55 or 75 shot spray. I don't imagine it would be nearly that in HP would it?

it is hard to say. if it is using the same jetting as their regular fogger kits I bet you would lose a few ponies (I doubt it would be significant) compared to a regular fogger. But regardless you are going to get some nice gains for the price.

This is probably the ideal setup for the Filter. For those that want and easy cheap NOS setup, a nice dry 55 shot would be perfect with this. The 2nd you get into WET, all budgets are blown!
