wondering about what my car will do

75 wet shot on my 92si slushbox.

ordered everything saturday night, will be here later this week. as my car stands right now, its best time is 15.80 at 87.0x. took it to the track thrs and i could only manage 15.99 but i was doin those at 88mph. the track was ****, it was import night, as usually they dont dht the track like they normally do.. anyhow enough with the ricer excuses, im just getting a little giddy, and wondering what kinda times i should be seeing.

btw i dynoed at 154whp and 135wtq. this was without the timing advance i usually do at the track, so it's a base of what ill start with when the nitrous goes in.

i checked the times posted in here and there was only 1 auto but it was a 5th gen, and ive never lost to an auto one on the street. so, he ran a 15.1.. wondering if its realistic to foresee lower times..

anyone in here have an auto 4th gen si theyve got hooked up?

well ill be the only auto for a while. trying to locate a 5speed off an h23a. if yall run acrossed any let me know.

theres a guy i know that sold his to his friend... i offered the friend 200 for it cash. he agreed.. but i just found out its got 'bearing noise'.. maybe throwout bearing? **** if i know he didnt really say. but the original owner told me to try for 100. i could do a simple rebuild, just replace all the synchros and just whatever else i dont feel comfortable with. if i could find a perfect tranny, id just buy it, but im not seein **** on ebay or even on here.

Robb on H-T appears to be selling an H23 tranny. However it is rebuilt and he wants $400.
shivic also has a stock one for sale for $450.

I ended up running a 15.1 with a 50 shot on my 97 SS. Off the bottle I ran a 16.5, so I gained quite a bit. However I am curious what my car would run now because I found a few small things wrong with it and was throwing CEL's when I was at the track. Off the bottle I was getting 2.8 60' times and on the bottle I was 2.5 60' times (and this is with the nitrous starting to spray at 2500 rpm).

Oh yeah, if you do spray at the track keep the timing stock, no need to detonate going down the track.

its definately not getting advanced ahah. i mentioned it being fully advanced because thats how i ran a buncha 15.8s, 15.80 being the lowest. without the t/a im around a 16.2/16.3. ive run it both ways at the track.

so i guess i can at least expect low 15s, possibly better.

pretty pathetic in the grand scheme of things i guess but still, im excited.

Before my tranny swap I ran an ss auto which is close in speed to an h22a 4th gen. My best off bottle was 16.2. My best with a 55shot of Zex was 14.8 and my best @ 65shot was 14.4 (see my sig) with a 2.300 60'. That's spraying @ 3000 in 1st through 3rd. I think 15 flat would be a good time to aim for, but as you can see, high 14s are possible.

PS - I got my h23a 5-speed tranny for $150 off an hpoa user. Just keep your eyes open for good deals or peeps doing h23->h22 swaps.

You ith be alot slower than a manual. The launch is what will kil you. Trust I know since I have an auto too. I would put you at mid 15's or a 16 flat depending on the weather. If you ran at COmmerce in teh heat we have now I'd say you woould run a 16.2 on the bottle.

if youd like to see my 16.2 timeslips ill show them to you. i have numerous 16.2s and .3s w/o the timing advance.

if youd like to see the 15.8 slips, ill be more than happy to link it as well, of course that was on full advance.

im sure a 75 shot will improve my time, not leave it the same.

what did you run off the bottle? im faster than all the auto 5th gens ive ever run. vtec schmeeteck.

Just for reference my 15.1 was on a 100 degree day. My car is also sputtering a little up in the higher rpms and my nitrous was kicking in and out on that run for some reason. I fixed the nitrous kicking in and out (bad crimp on a wire) but I still have some sputtering.

I imagine with your setup and a 75 shot you will be in the low 14's without a problem.

14s are looking like something i might be able to shoot for, though im not so sure about 'low' 14s. right now i want to focus on low 15s at least, and possibly some high 14s. ill take it to the track next friday and see how it does. gotta find a day to take it to get dyno'd again.

i realize you did the 15.1 on a 50 shot, but im really pessimistic..dont want to set myself up for disappointment, so low 15s high 14s ill shoot for. might have to get some diff tires. ive got avs es 100s on there right now. ill see how the car does on em over the weekend, if im spinnin a lot ill just order a couple drag radials. wish i had my bfgoodrich dr's. sold em when i bought the beater

btw heres the 15.80 run. same tires. crappy mph though. usually trap at 88.3give or take a tenth
