It depends on where you are I guess because I'm not sure if the laws in every state, but here you definitley are not allowed to have nitrous in the car without being on a track (I think). Anyway, I think it would be a very bad idea since if in case anything happens, it's going to explode within the cabin - where YOU ARE. For hatchbacks, people are required to have these blow-down tubes so that the escaped nitrous would just leak outside the car.

If you really want to do it, go for it, but it's such a bad idea.

Cop can't give you a ticket for CO2. Check with your local DOT to see if it is legal to have nitrous in your car. I know it is in WI.

Take the sticker off of it. Also, automotive grade nitrous has sulfur in it, which has a distinct smell. Let him get a whiff to prove your innocence.

I'm pretty sure its legal to have it in the cabin in KS as long as its not open. I'm not sure about other states though..

I think the scoop in MD is that you can have the bottle in the car, but it must be turned off while driving. Prety sure it must also be out of driver reach, so that in theory you'd have to get out to turn on the bottle. Of course that law existed before remote openers.

last I knew in md you could only have it in the car if you were transporting it, it couldnt be on the "rack" or have any lines hooked up to it..... nothing a call to the state police station couldnt hurt, other then you know there gonna be a ass about it
