hi i was thinking about getting nitrous after partially installing a turbo system. I have somewhat of an upgraded engine, 2.5 in Tanabe exhaust, a K&N intake, AEM Fuel Rail and even a cometic head gastket installed.
I was thinking about getting a ZEX kit cause it seemed like the power that i wanted. It advertises it senses the TPS sensor and injects nitrous based on it. So it's pretty much power on demand, without much thought (it'll automatically inject when i'm flooring it).
I was wondering what you all have to say. Is it a good route to go. I also have a J&S Ultrasafeguard v2. I was wondering if it would be useful a ignition timer. I know it's recommended to prevent knock for turbos. I just was a 55 shot. It's a daily driving car, and i already ***** about expensive gas here in CA
Well, all the systems out activate at WOT. It's just a safety precaution they come with. I'd prefer getting the NX kit for 2 reasons. One, because it's a wet kit, and 2, because they measure their shots at the wheels.

so do you have the turbo kit on there now or not??? well if you do and you want Nitrous i hope those internals are built because you will be sayin bye bye to your ringlands real soon....or worse
if youre switching from Turbo to Nitrous ignore that last comment
i would suggest NX Wet Kit

i don't have the turbo on anymore, i have remnants of it though, ie AEM Fuel rail with a fuel pressure gauge, and a thicker head gasket as well as a J&S still installed.
I just decided that turbo may be too much of a headache for me and decided to sell it.
I know people say NOS cause it's been around for so long.
So what you are saying is that they all auto-activate at WOT or something similar? I just don't like the idea of having to press a button when i should be looking at the road when i go insanely fast.

Well, that sucks. I didn't see any reviews about that before I bought mine

NX and ZEX are the only two you should consider IMO. Also, I think NX just blows ZEX out of the water, but it's also more expensive. If I were you, I'd get the best the first time around, plus you more likely NOT to get a "busted" solenoid with these, over the NOS kit.

I think their noids are probably fine for regular use. However if you want to throw a controller in there or you spray a lot, they will wear out much faster than other noids will.

I blew a powershot noid 5 times on normal use/no progressive controller. I'd rebuild the noid, make a pass, run rich as hell on my second pass, and have to rebuild the noid.
If I could do it all over again I'da gone with the NX kit due to the quality of the kit in general. I currently have a Zex kit and I've had it for about 2 years now with no problems whatsoever. I'd recommend the zex kit if you want a simple easy to use system. The NX kits supposedly make more power than the others but I have yet to see a dyno proving that. The NX kits also have great quality parts as well. Kris aka laughin2.2 and Mark aka wreckdiver have had some 'noids go bad on them with the NOS kits. So, in general I'd go with NX followed by ZEX. They are both good and you really can't go wrong with either of them. Good luck with whatever you decide to do

You haven't? I've seen a dyno posted on this very site. I'll try to find for ya'.
NOS is having a hard time figuring out these import kits, specifically the 'noids. I have 2 friends that applied NOS kits on their Civic and Integra, and both of them have had the powershot noid go after a few uses. With a controller though, it'd probably be a diff. story.

What shot were you using?

75 shot, although it isn't the size of the shot that effects the life of the noids it is the amount of pressure that sits on the seals. In my case I don't have a bottle heater so I was sitting just a bit of 800 psi.
