tuning fuel jetting (wet kits)

I was wondering if anyone has changed the jetting on the fuel side with a wet setup? I am contemplating getting a vafc and dyno tuning it, and while I'm at it I might lean out my fuel jetting while on the bottle. I've got a few friends with teg's and they run the jetting for a 50 shot on the fuel side and a 75 shot on the nitrous side (all tuned with a wideband O2 sensor). Now if I do change the jetting on the fuel side I will dyno tune with a wideband O2 sensor, but I kinda wanted to get an idea of where I might end up at.

I think you should get on the dyno first, see what the a/f ratio is with the 50hp jets, then change it if its running rich.

I wouldnt recommend jetting fuel at 50 and n20 at 75.....thats asking to blow up......use your fuel pressure to tune....they dont just randomly jet it....they do it for performance and safety...

before I change anything for jetting on the fuel side I'll have a widband O2 sensor, I just wanted to know if anyone else here has ran some leaner jetting. As for teh 50 fuel jet and 75 n2o jet, it was all dynotuned on a wideband o2 sensor. I really want to trap over 100 mph and hit a low 14 with my SS, I think I can get close

Get your current setup dynoed first, and see how rich/lean you are. Remember, what works for once car may not work for another.

You have the right idea. NOS's recommendations aren't specific for each car. If you are running in the 10s or lower, then it may be helpful to run a one size smaller fuel jet. If that A/F jumps above low 13s I'd go back to the original jets. If you have a VAFC, fpr and a wet kit tuning shouldn't be much of a challenge.

How do you set the VAFC to get the best rich a/f ratio on the bottle, but yet when not ou the bottle you dont maintain an ultra rich a/f ratio, thus decreasing performance. Can the a/f fuel ratio on the vafc be adjusted on a dyno ,with a wideband, for best performance for both optimized on and off the bottle a/f ratios? What would the settings be? Can you even do that?

What you want to do is get a good AF for off the bottle and then use the fuel/nitrous jetting combo for tuning on the bottle.

When you are spraying, all that you are looking to do is to get a safe AF ratio. It doesn't have to be exact or on the ragged edge of detonation. If you want more power on the bottle just put in a bigger shot.

Bottom line:
-Tune the VAFC for off the bottle
-Use the jetting combination to maintain a safe A/F ratio while on the bottle
-Use a larger shot if you want more power
